*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Previous threads:

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread - Thread TWO!
The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread - Thread THREE!

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!

Yeah. At first I thought, benefit of a doubt and maybe this text wasn't edited that well and the teacher /administration might not have been aware. When I saw the first response I thought at least he knows it's not appropriate art but I wondered how he felt about the passage appropriateness for children. The last post alarming though. Yeah no one likes to be on the hot seat but as Ecurbh posted it seemed childish. I just wonder where the administrator is. I would have a fit if an employee communicating like this to a family member.Tuffy mentioned a big church. Televised? Would the pastor be comfortable reading this to present graphics to his congregation while preaching on evil in our world? That's the test IMO

Yea!!! Don't you just hate that? CDs are horrible and getting kids toys out of packages these days almost impossible:')

It is disgraceful for Tuffy or any parent or child to have to make the shcool aware of unsuitable material.
As for the reply from the teacher about not "alarming" other parents. I would WANT to be alarmed!

This is James (deaconjim) not daring to change out posts again. : D

I wonder how he would explain this to Sean Hannity? Why don't you go to foxnews.com, get Hannity's e-mail address, and fill him in. That way, we could all get a look at this deviant. Perhaps having his picture on national TV would help to keep him from teaching anywhere else.

Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it. And you are right, I need to get a meeting with the church minister for mediation but as you read, as soon as I mentioned him, the teacher backed off and doesn't want to meet with me anymore. (gee, I wonder why?)

The problem with already paying for the school tuition is that if I pull one kid, I need to pull all 5 and that's $50,000 down the drain. If they would just listen to reason it wouldn't be necessary to pull the kids. Wouldn't it be smarter for the school to pull this book, especially when there are about a million more good art books that don't discuss smut, than to cost themselves $50,000 a year in tuition? Where is the common sense in all of this?

The administrator won't care, he's the world's biggest schmuck. He'll lie, cheat and steal but say it's in the name of christianity and he's on a mission from God, putting this Christian school together. We just found out his true self this year. He's very charming, until you get to know him and find out all the stuff he does. If he's not the world's biggest hypocrit than I don't know who is. Probably my daughter's teacher.

Well theres not a lot of common sense with a techer like him in the system.
I wouldnt even try and arrange a meeting with this teacher, It would be pointless. Go straight to the administrator, with all of the correspondence, the book and your minister if he is willing.
You are right, this book needs to be pulled. All of the other children in the school should not be corrupted by such filth.

The school thinks that this teacher is the greatest thing since sliced bread! He's this wonderful Christian man who loves the children blah blah blah. They would be stunned to think that anyone would refer to him as a deviant. I think there is evil lurking in his heart somewhere and he's been able to hide it for years but it's finally been brought to the surface. I think he's getting his jollies knowing that these children are reading this and thinking about it.

Here's our horse thread... be sure to check out the "who's who" link at the top of the thread to see pics of many of our regulars and their horses.

Today, we've talked mostly about a teacher/parent issue and homeschooling ;~D We're mostly horses, but lots of things come up here and there too in the course of a day.

I hope you join us for conversation, and introduce yourself and your horses!

Threaten to go public, to the news media etc, if the book is not pulled.
If they do not listen, or will not change their tune demand a refund on your money ( for not teaching Christian values in a Christian school) and homeschool or go elsewhere.

Oh, I'm going to go public with this at some point.

This freak teacher couldn't believe I was questioning his judgment but I also question his morals. He didn't think those descriptions were pornographic! Well, if they aren't, then why not let the 5th grade study this book, or the 4th grade? Where do we draw the line if it's not pornographic?

That text is offensive to me and dj as adults. It is definitely unsuitable for children.
I am so sorry that you have come up against such opposition when what you are saying is totally right.

Did you see djs (under roseofsharn) post about going to fox news?
I would let the school know that "not wanting to meet to talk about it" isnt even an option. The book needs to be removed from the school, end of story.
I wish I lived closer cause I'd be right there with you!
