It isn't that we ~can't~ get another policy. It's that I can't afford much more than what we're paying now. :-(
Getting a policy in Florida is difficult, but in South Florida it's become almost impossible. Maybe up near Jacksonville things are less expensive???
I think most of the rest of the state is very much cheaper in terms of general living, with some exceptions like Naples. I think State Farm can sometimes not be the cheapest insurance either, although I haven't really gone price shopping recently. I know State Farm doesn't want to sell new policies as they've told some agents that their agencies are not being renewed when they retire.
Hey Ruthy, I don't know if you remember an end wall of bookshelves in my house by the couch in front of the TV. Anyway, half of the shelf just fell off the wall the other night at 3 AM, made a major noise, sounded like a cataclysm. I woke right up and thought of grabbing for a shotgun, then noticed none of the dogs were barking, so merely went downstairs to find a hundred and fifty or so books and a couple shelves on the deck and a lamp knocked over.
