Yeah, I'll be asking them, hopefully they'll cooperate.
I'm not too concerned about the cat policy, honestly, since the posting they have on the building's bulletin board just says "cats are permitted with deposit", and no other conditions.
What do they want with all those cat "deposits?"
I would think they'd be happy to let you switch, considering they'd be getting more rent!
