The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The more I read up on feline diabetes, the more I think there's no WAY Halvah's diabetic. I feel better.

Still will do the test.

That shaved spot looks so sad! Hope it grows back fast.

Good! Keep telling yourself that. There are no worries until they come back with a diagnostic. Those kitties will be around to sneeze on you and annoy you for years to come.

I think so! ;-)

She's happy...'cause I felt guilty about all she's been through today, so I stopped on the way home and got cat food she likes. She's still been on a hunger strike over the cheaper stuff, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to get something better anyway.

Heh...it isn't nearly that bad. I guess I ca be grateful? It's just a spot on the side of her neck.

Awww... anyway, glad you and she are feeling better. See! No cat tumors, no cat diabetes, no cat leprosy...

I am making really good progress here. Yay me! Got the proposal done, mostly done with the exam. Hopefully I can start working on the JavaBeans tonight.

I have a coupla hours to do a little more organizing, and then there's the jam. And it's likely tonight the word will spread that I'm heading out soon. It almost did last week, but I didn't quite get around to mentioning it to anyone.

Lot of people asked me about it at work. And everyone was very encouraging. That's part of why I'm feeling better. Guess God knew I needed more positives in my life. ;-)

Exactly a month from today, we'll be heading out! I should change my tagline soon...

Go Jen!

I'm loggin' off, will check in over the weekend when I can but the weather is just gorgeous, so it might not be often.

Expect me when you see me!

You could put in a countdown...

Ignore the negative people, thank the supportive ones, say, "I'll be happy to see you if you get out there someday" and don't let anyone make you justify your choice.

Heh...unfortunately he's always there. But as long as I don't discuss life with him, it'll be fine. ;-) Mostly there isn't a LOT of talking going on there. Pretty safe.

One of my biggest faults is that I always seek approval and am very hurt when people don't approve of me or my choices. It's something I need to outgrow. This may help...this whole move!

And most people, as I've said, have been really nice. Even had someone today say they wished they could clone me and they'd miss me terribly as I was the most approachable person in IT and they'd never been nervous about coming to me with stupid questions. Made me feel really good!

How about "I will not go outside and fill up on grass, which makes me sick, and then come into the house and throw it up?"
