Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Remember field safety Jen.... lotsa friendlies downrange here.
This was solved already in your favor... There was no fight here. No one who has posted here has supported the position claimed on that other thread.
I seem to be the only one who thinks your comments here about the rest of the thread seems downright b____y, so I'll refrain from saying that.
Oh wait. I just did.
D'oh.

Lembas are something like shortbread, only less sweet.
Thanks, I just don't want to ever be the cause of someone else's bad mood. I work very hard at school to hide my true hateful self behind a cheerful mask. You guys probably wouldn't recognize me there. they think I'm an optimist. That's why I love coming here and letting things out.
Of course, today my ears are clogged, my glands are swollen, and I can't breathe so I'm extra cranky.

In that case, Bear, let's start a discussion of weird hard SF that maybe three other people have read, and 2J can start keeping us up to date about Wal-mart's prices and Ruthy can wait for Ramius to show up so they can flirt and g'nad can come talk about gralloching.... in other words, let's drop this and go back to normal.Gosh, I love this thread. All of it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be a jerk! I'm just feeling lousy and not able to phrase things too diplomatically. I get a good talk with my 'big sister' later today, so I'll have her give me a talking-to.
Thanks for confirming that I really do have to work at being human, I usually do a better job :-)

Of course, today my ears are clogged, my glands are swollen, and I can't breathe so I'm extra cranky. Have you been back for more drugs? The stuff going around this winter does have a tendency to linger (see Exhibit A: Corin). But make sure they're giving you everything they can.

I apparently have a virus. I'm taking tons of ibuprofin and some generic cold stuff - it's working, today. Mostly I'm resting and taking in lots of fluids.

Um, yeah... well, at least once Rosie gets here and gets a job, I have her to leech off in case I get exiled from polite society.

Don't feel silly. It's no fun whether it's three months or three days.
