Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Kilt the thread with it ;~D
Rosie, there was a time when there was nothing but anime being discussed... but that isn't exactly your ~fault~.
As a group, we had to kind of experiment around and figure out what this thread was gonna talk about without new movies. Lots of you liked the anime stuff, just not all of us. We got the conversation back eventually to a little more variety of content we can all follow, and it happened all on it's own, without really having to say anything rude.

There was a lot of it that *I* knew nothing about and couldn't discuss, too. I've only seen two or three shows, really. So most of it was Greek to me as well. But it didn't offend me.
I thought most people were joking when they made really caustic remarks about "cartoons". Guess not.
I'm gonna stay off thread for awhile today. I'm overreacting to stuff both off-line and on, and I don't want to say still more things I regret later. Feel like having this all pulled, but I guess it'll be edifying for later.

Rosie, there was a time when there was nothing but anime being discussed... but that isn't exactly your ~fault~. 'Course not. I've always blamed Jen.

Eh - don't worry.... if people say nothing, it means they don't want to take a stand either way. Life's too short to worry about stuff like this.
It's time for a new thread anyway, but I'll wait now, till this gets behind us.

it happened all on it's own, without really having to say anything rude.I guess someone didn't get a copy of the "Don't Be Rude" memo...
It's like when my family gets together. Both my sisters like country music, my brother and I don't. If my sisters start talking about country singers, my brother and I don't try to make them stop and talk about something ~WE~ are interested in. We just start talking about jazz, or basketball, or something else, and let them have their conversation.
Life is too short to get your knickers in a twist over something so trivial.

The guys at work I eat lunch with mostly talk sports which I am not into. I will play them on occasion but I don't watch them on tv at all. While I could not careless about it I still sit and talk when things come up I can comment on. Even though I have seen people do it, I still don't understand how people can take offense at hearing about something they are not interested in.
To: TalonDJ; SuziQ; RosieCotton; Corin Stormhands
OK then... I think that kindof settles it, and we won't need talk about this again ;~D
I'll start the new thread in a bit, when ecurbh's off to work, I've had some breakfast, and turned the ponies out.

OK then... I think that kindof settles it, and we won't need talk about this again ;~D Talk about what again?
Talk about anime again? OR
Talk about talking about anime again? OR
Talk about not talking about anime again?
I'm so confused...
