The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

"GRPL" rhymes with "purple"

If they get banned, weren't they predestined to have done so?

Yeah, but it really frosts some of 'em when we tell them that. ;-)

Seriesly (and after this we can take it offline, 'cause I don't want to clutter the thread), the thing that baffles me most is that we (the non-Calvinists) are accused of "getting them banned." The instances are clear, everyone who has been permanently banned either challenged the moderator or had multiple screen names.

The end. Freepmail me if y'all want to follow up on this. But let's not drag it over here.

(And yes, thank you very much, I DO know I started it...)

I don't blame you. Whenever I go over there it looks like everyone is digging his own grave. I just think it's ugly and I prefer to discuss theology in real life, too - my latest task is trying to explain to a friend who thinks she is either Presbyterian, or Catholic, what it is either of those groups claims to believe.

Got a note back from the guy that application went to saying "No problem" and that he'd file the new resume. Hopefully...that's a good sign.

I'm still mad that I'm an idiot, though. ;-)

You aren't an idiot, you had a blank moment.

Bah, got to get to school... I have a bad feeling about this.

True, but blank moments while doing very, very important things are very, very bad. Dunno what kinda impression that'll create!

On the other hand, as Hair said...I may have proved I could use a little work when it comes to attention to detail, but I've also shown I can admit to error and correct myself. I guess...that's good, too?

Keep prayin'!

We all have idiot moments... You had a pretty benign one really... Some people's idiot moments get them killed. ;~D

Thanks for checking in, ksen! I'm glad to hear you are all OK!

I'm being buried alive with work here, so I'll check back later. :-)

Absolutely!

Well, I found a parking space in five minutes instead of twenty... that's a good sign... hopefully the rest of the day will be ok...

Not today, but it's gonna be long. Possibly long and boring. And I really ought to go right home afterwards and do homework but I'll be going to choir instead.

I might play around with it today... and put us all in one pic anyway. That is the part of photoshopping that I am least good at.

Racist.

Actually, Hair, that's not a bad idea. I can redo mine tonite and repost or send it to you.

It would be easier, although it's not hard on cartoons to erase out the background. ;~D

I may put clothes on mine, or I may just put myself in the back ;~D
