Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Are you talking about Blake Island? It's been 15 years, I can't remember. We flew over on a water plane (what's the right word for that?).
They usually brougth people over on a ferry. Served them dinner and did a traditional Indian show. Seems like there were a couple of places that offered us that option.

That's Blake Island.
The other notable thing about the island are the very tame deer.

Graciousness, girlfriend, you can troubleshoot Macs and PCs. You can look higher than "basic!"Well...I don't feel TOTALLY confident with Macs.
But mainly what I meant by basic is doesn't-include-programming. I dunno programming. And a lot of smaller places seem to want someone to administer the network / do reports / design databases / write scripts. I'm just not that technical...
But I really, really, really want the one job I applied for...

Not the same subject, but ran across a paper here that discusses the use of anti-bacterial soaps... and how it can kill the "good" bacteria in a septic system. Interesting:

I think I'll tell dad about this. That should freak him out. :-)

How'd it go? Did you tell the gig you're setting off on a wild adventure?

Not the same subject, but ran across a paper here that discusses the use of anti-bacterial soaps... and how it can kill the "good" bacteria in a septic system. I've heard that. I also heard recently that there's not necessarily extra benefits in using anti-bacterial soap because all we're realling doing is making way for stronger bacteria that are resistant to the soap.
Pretty much the same thing they say about the overuse of antibiotics.

The gig?
No, I didn't end up making a general announcement. Kinda didn't find the right moment. But I did tell one of the people who already knew that it's OK to talk about it now, so it may get out anyhow.
And I can always tell 'em next week. Though I'm running out of next weeks pretty quickly...

Not nice ;~D
People are coming here to do test holes for new drain field on Sunday... I'm a little apprehensive about where they are going to want to put it. I don't want it in the pasture if it means I cant drive on it.... or keep the horses on it. I'd rather it go in the back, even if they have to log some. I don't know if I have a say in it.

You could always just leave and have the bothers report how long it takes them to figure it out.

Who was Laura Palmer? Heh...nobody you'd need to know.
"Twin Peaks" was a bizarre television show that ran for a couple of seasons in the early 1990s. Laura Palmer was the young girl murdered in the first episode.
We didn't watch it for very long because Jr. was just a year or so old and usually still up when it was on. There were images he just didn't need to see.

Eh, they'd notice.
But they'll know soon enough, in any case. One of the people I told is a gossip...or...errrr...good at spreading news, to say it in a nicer way. ;-) He'll pass it on right quick.
