Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah, stuff of that sort gets tedious.

Rose did! I took it to mean you both!
Thank you! We're really having a good time with it, not doing anything but taking it apart. Taking it apart is free, you know. LOL!!

Update on the apartment:
They're having me move between March 17th and 19th. The new apartment looks very nice. It has a better fridge than the one I've got now. Did I tell you it faces east? So it's a good thing you're a morning person.
My plan right now is to move all my stuff down on the Friday, and then get my Strong Male Friends(tm) to help with the six pieces of immovable furniture. If you are able to fit your rocker into Van-sama there'll be plenty of room in the living room. There's also video/dvd shelf space but no fiction book space.

Big huge files full of testing data... Windows is afraid to give me an estimate of how much longer it's going to take...
By the way... I got an email and call from a former boss today. He wants me to send him a copy of my resume', as he has a Unix admin job that he thinks I can do.
Being steadily employed again would be a good thing...

Gee, were you all just holding back, waiting to see if I'd come along for the fives?

Well, I have two things to say today.
1) Life is never boring
2) There are much, much worse places to be stranded than at church.
(My car died just after I dropped off elf-boy at school. Just got home, and ate lunch half an hour ago.)

Excellent! So...does that mean I get the east facing bedroom - first light and all that? ;-)
I think I'm likely going to sell the rocker, but we'll see. Book space is THE most important thing, IMO!
*sigh* In MY world, I've just discovered my phone bill was about 25% more than usual, for no reason than I can tell - unless Stephen phoned engaged brother from here - which combined with other things means I'm really broke until next Thursday. So...I can't mail that package, unless I borrow from siblings. That's OK, right? Or did you have a reason to need it right off?

I'm starting to fret about my job search. Sure hope it goes fast, but...

Gee, were you all just holding back, waiting to see if I'd come along for the fives? Only sorta. I was trying to finish a document before the weekend (done).
That and I was ignoring Rosie's snooty comments about Star Trek IV. ;-)

Weren't you just talking about buying something new? So this wasn't TOTALLY unexpected, was it? Is it really dead?

And here I was, being all sneaky, trying to post as quickly as I could to make sure the posts didn't get interrupted... (sigh) knowing you were holding back takes a little of the sense of accomplishment out of it all.... ;)

No rush... see if you can get Stephen to confess and pony up! An as to furniture, I've got plenty of places to sit. Just thought I'd mention there's room.
I don't know about bedrooms yet - I'll let you know once I've measured and figure out which one's bigger ;-)
PS - the apartment people asked if you were a criminal and I said no, but perhaps I should have run a background check on you before letting you move in. After all, I met you online, you could be a sixty year old guy - no, wait, I met you. Scratch that.

I'll be prayin' for ya!Thanks! Rose was tickled pink when I told her about it (which, if you know my Rose, is quite a trick...)
Everything else has worked out so well with your move, I'm betting the job situation will too! Just have to keep the faith (and send out those resumes!)

Just remember...if I can fit my instruments in there, I'll be less annoying. ;-)
I don't THINK I'm a criminal. At least, this personality isn't. I'm not sure about the others. I'll have to ask the voices in my head.
