Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah...just odd reading it in print, and put so briefly. ALL it said is "Rosie Cottons last day of employment at ### will be April 1."
No "We wish her all the best" or nuffin. Makes me wonder what people will think...

Okay, I'm going to try this link thingy again :-)
Traveling with Your Cat OB and I did lots of traveling with our cats and they do settle down fairly quickly. Once we got out of traffic we would let them out of their carriers and they would snuggle up with each other, or find a hidey hole in the car. If you are concerned about medications there are some good holistic meds out there for cats.

Okay, what did I do wrong this time?
To: LSAggie
It's OK - I figured it out! Good site.
The reason it didn't work is that you have to put http:// before the website. Otherwise it assumes it's going to another part of Free Republic, and the link doesn't work. I was able to copy and paste it, though.

Let me check to get things straight - you're thinking of flying out of Denver on the Monday, yes? And flying back when?

Flying out on a Wednesday - the 14th, I think?
And flying back on the Monday after.

Ah, right. That makes more sense. That works well for me. Have you got the tickets yet, and what time of day are we looking at?

Don't have tickets yet - I have to wait until I have money, unfortunately. So I won't know until at LEAST next Thursday (payday).

No "We wish her all the best" or nuffin. Makes me wonder what people will think...They probably think there is a big scandal and you have been fired. If you want to make it really interesting, if they ask you about it, burst into tears and run from the room.
Just kidding

I'm also hoping to sit down with Margaret and get our days figured out - where we'll stop at night and when we'll go through certain states and towns. Maybe this weekend we can take care of that.
I guess I should just do it without her, really, but I want another eye on things.

Heh...
If I'd been fired, they woulda gotten an e-mail like I've seen in the past. "So and so's is no longer an employee as of yesterday - please delete all access".
Not a month's notice.
At least, I HOPE they realize that. ;-)
But looking at the e-mail again, I think it mostly went to people who will have to close an account / get a key back / figure out payroll. Wasn't the official announcement.

Nope, mine are sisters and litter mates. They get along great the rest of the time. As soon as something upsets them (like me grabbing them, stuffing them into a cage and hauling them to a kennel and leaving them their a week) and they can't stand to be near each other. Beta probably would not mind but Alpha has a very strong defensive reaction to anything upsetting. Beta prefers the 'if I just purr louder they will be nice to me' tactic. Alpha prefers the 'scratch and run like hell for the deepest darkest hole' tactic. Beta will respond in kind when Alpha provokes. If I do something mean to Alpha she will hiss at Beta because she know darn well she will not get away with hissing at me.

You guys could draw up a map with a blinking red dot for our last known location or estimated position. ;-)
