Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh...sounds like your doctors = our faculty.
We end up working on their home PCs fairly frequently, if only in order to prove that it's not our fault...
Staying calm in the midst of a lambasting is an interesting mental game, and one I get to practice pretty frequently.

Hang in there, XGI! the Rodent said we only have a few more weeks of winter. Of course we're supposed to get 4-6 MORE inches of snow tonight. Oh JOY, Oh BLISS! I've enjoyed all this white stuff as much as I can stand!

It's an invoice for a ridiculously insanely tricked out laptop from a company called Alienware.

Now...you can have that delivered to me, k? You don't have room for it in Van-sama.
Mornin'. Stayin' home today. I'm breathing better, but still have a major headache.
Snow here too. Just started sticking to the ground about an hour ago. But it's been so warm, doubt it will be much of a problem on the roads.

I could strap it to the roof...if it wouldn't be too heavy for the roof rack...
Still lookin' for a good roof pouch, by the way. Guess I should order that pretty soon so I can be sure to have it on time - in case they're backordered or something.

Doing dandy! Just checked my bank account. All those bills I paid off have cleared and I've only got two other "regular bills" that have to clear. We're going to have some breathing room hopefully, now that a couple hundred bucks of bills each month is gone. But I won't see it till next month.
Still, for now...my heart is very light! Steve's tuition has even cleared...we free of that, hopefully for forever.

Good morning Hair! I'm on my third day of 1/6th decaf coffee. No headache this morning. Think I'll go through the weekend at this level, then adjust it to 1/3rd decaf on Monday.
Good ol' Steve. I asked him if he minded if I started making it with decaf (you know he brings me my cup and sets it on the bedside table before he leaves for work). He said "If you make it, I'll drink it. I don't care if it has decaf in it."
That way I don't have to make my coffee seperate. Which woulda meant no more bedside table coffee in the morning, which just means so much to me!

After the House Closing (AHC), I get to pay off all MY bills. ;-) And still have some leftover. I really didn't expect that...but then I never expected the house to sell in two days for full asking price. Heh...
AND I get to bring Halvah! So my heart is light, too.
Also Dad said he has a co-worker who would take Cleo if I find no one else. He's a little concerned about doing that because of her past health problems, but it might be an option. I want to have a full vet checkup done anyway, so we could know where we stand.

You get to bring two kitties then?
RE Cleo... does the person taking her now know about the past surgery already? If they do, they probably understand it might not be a long commitment.

Two kitties, yep! How we're gonna handle that in the car, I'm not sure yet...but I guess we'll find some way.
I haven't talked to the gal about Cleo yet, but if/when I do, I'll for sure let her know. What bothers Dad is that she had a cat in the past with kidney problems, and spent years and lots of money on the cat...he doesn't want to put her in that situation again, as she's not someone who would just put Cleo down if the cancer came back.
In some ways, I feel like I shouldn't be rehoming Cleo. But I also can't bring her, and the alternative is putting her down. It's not an easy situation.
