Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yesterday, at the grocery store, I thought I would try the new diet coke with lime. I am a Dr. Pepper girl myself. I hafta admit, the lime makes the diet coke palatable.

If UT and A&M were talk show hosts, A&M would be Rush Limbaugh, and UT Al Franken.ROFL that about pins it on the nose.

I love Coca Cola. Vanilla Coke especially. I was happy when they came out with this because my friends and I would always go to the local Sonic drive in and order Vanilla Coke...or sometimes Cherry Vanilla Coke. Hubby loves Dr. Pepper, but its too soft for me. I like the sharpness of Coke.

Woohooo! I'm done. We are free and clear, my friend. Praise the Lord, pass the biscuits!
Ok...here's my weird story for the day...
I was getting ready to take the jedis to McDonalds...and I see our trash guys coming. They have a big truck and we have one of their dumpster like trashcans on wheels, you know? Ok...So I see 'em coming down the road and because I'm a bit shy, I wait and watch for them to pass by before we leave.
There's this trash guy walking beside the truck munching on a bag of popcorn! No way, how gross, right? Then he walks up to our trash can and instead of hooking it to the truck and letting it dump our trash in, he opens the lid and proceeds to GO THROUGH our trash a little bit at a time, dropping it by the handfuls into the back of his truck! I mean, it really looked like he was searching through our trash!
Jedis and I are going "GROSS!!" while watching from the house! Then he proceeds on down the street still eating his popcorn!
I'm gonna watch next week and see if he does it again...I'm not real keen on people rummaging through my trash...if they wanna eat popcorn that's their business I suppose.

ROFLOL!
Yesterday, I had just popped a big ol' bowl of popcorn, you know? Then Corin points me to a thread that said the IRS is investigating people with a return over a certain amount. I was supposed to get more than that certain amount!
That popcorn tasted like sawdust after that! LOL

OT, addressing this to you since you're the most recent home seller...
Do you know - and I realize this must vary by state - do taxes come out of the money for the house right away? Or is that something I'd pay next year? Any ideas on percentage?
I think you said something about this before, but I wasn't paying attention (she admitted sheepishly...).

Yeah, I know...
I do a lot of shredding anyways, so hopefully if they're looking to steal my identity or anything, they're outa luck.

do taxes come out of the money for the house right away? Mine didn't. I've heard that you have to use the sale proceeds to buy another house within 2 years or you'll have to pay capital gains on it. I'll have to look it up (or consult a tax 'professional") to make sure. Wonder if the closing attorney can do a witholding on it since you're sure you won't be buying a house sometime in the next two years.
