New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Later folks.
We're taking Luke to see the circus.
g'nad, I'll say hello to yer relatives.
*sigh*
Ya know, if he was allowed pets where he is now, he might actually take me up on that! He likes Siamese.
Oh well...
Time for dinner, and then O'Shea's! We're playin' music tonight.
And Tam says it's time to play a lonnnnng game of fetch.
If she wants to be a vet and is thinking of A&M she should talk to Empress. She did her prevet there for er.. 2 or 3 years, I forget, before going off to Grenada to do the DVM part.
The continuing adventures...
I consulted the TA of my third class of the day and decided to skip. Got to the bus stop with three minutes to spare, which was great, because it's cold out. Only the bus didn't come. And didn't come. And none of the transit personnel would tell us stranded riders why....
So after half an hour, the second bus of the route made its way back around. Apparently the one I should have taken broke down (disappointing, I was thinking "Speed" there). I'm home, at least, but I have no food so I must make a final effort...
....and a methane-nitrogen atmosphere on Titan.
Evening everybody!
Izzit Friday yet?
almost... and I don't want it to be... tomorrow will be doubleplus nonfun.
Salary reviews. [yuck]
How much ya gettin'? :)
dunno... but tomorrow is the giving out part. Some people will do well and some people won't.
Probably nobody will be happy.
Another fun development: Got a call last night from da boss. We got notification from the vendor of our financial accounting package that they are terminating support for our system at the end of this year.
Swell. Crunch a two year process into six months, since we'll have to be converted and running on [some new system] in parallel for a quarter before the year end, for SOX compliance.
Swell.
Sooo....could you make a living selling T-shirts at the beach?
That sounds pretty good. :-)
...or sell sea shells by the seashore.
Heh...there are rumors where I work that people somewhere high up think we have too many IT people. Um...not.
But it does mean my boss may be extra displeased at my leaving. It's possible they won't let him refill my position.
This is all just rumors, but...I kinda wonder.
Everybody always thinks there's too many lifeguards when nobody's drowning. :-)
Or when the lifeguard is out of sight, saving someone else.
Grr...it's frustrating. But I guess soon it isn't my problem. Still...
Nuts... be back later... :-)
