Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You know, with all this noise about Hannity, wouldn't be right if he didn't "visit" the Hobbit Hole...

We should invite him in for a little "talk"...
Yay! Lady came and bought the table AND the treadmill! She'll be back later to pick it up.

Yep! Just the desk now. And the cats. The free furniture I'm not as worried about - if no one takes it, it'll go to the dump. No big deal.
But cash is always good!

Perhaps you could come up with a sob story and sell the cats on ebay?

Heh...no thanks!
Could be entertaining, though.
Entertainment isn't really what I want where they're concerned, though! Just a nice, stable home. Or homes.

Let's see... haven't you got a hold over anyone? Someone at work, or at church, or anything?

I'm calling that lady tonight.
And if that doesn't give me any leads, I still haven't called the guy who hooked me up with one of the cats - he may have leads.
I could, as a last resort, put an ad in the paper, but I'm a little leery of that. I'm likely to get people who won't really care for them - just think "oh...Siamese mixes...pretty".

Tried again. Got her. Not much luck.
She said she really mostly works with strays, and has a kennel - so they'd be in cages until she could find homes. And she said the chances of anyone wanting cats as old as mine are very slim. (Halvah's only 5, but I guess that's old in the adoption world.)
Sounds like she'd be willing to take Halvah if I absolutely found no one else, but there's no telling what would happen to her after that.
And Cleo...gosh, I don't know. Knowing her personality as I do, I'd put her down before sending her anywhere where she'd be caged in a noisy environment. She would be beyond miserable.
Gosh...what a let down.

I have so many doubts and fears about all this. After everything else has gone so well...this may be the stumbling block. And today is one of those days where it all seems totally unreal.
There isn't anything I should know about bringing Tam is there? I mean, will I need to talk to anyone or present any paperwork? I'm worrying about that, too. *fret*

I don't think so. I'll check it out but I'm pretty sure it'd just be paying the fee. And don't worry too much about Tam, at least.
This won't be the stumbling block. You're on the TPL, right? God doesn't hold something up, let you almost get it, and then yank it out of reach.
