Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I dunno. Wife said the Golden Retriever/Poodle mix was a pretty dog. Poodles don't look that bad without the goofy haircuts.

Or a poodle and a rottweiler. Get a poodle that rips your throat out. Hmm... stealth attack dog.

I think Goldens are nice enough on their own! Surely the coat looks really weird? To cross long silky coat with short curly one - seems like you'd get something that looks like a brillo pad. Or a tribble.

"Labradoodle"
If this dog doesn't shed, that'd be great.

Poodles don't look that bad without the goofy haircuts.Yep. I see poodles around once in awhile with at least less extreme cuts. They don't look like "poodles".
On the other hand, a standard poodle with one of the sissier cuts is quite a sight. A bit frightening, really.

And if it has the lab temperament, it'd even enjoy it...

Heh, I haven't been around labs but if they're half as sweet and mellow as golden retrievers...

Ours were just slightly less mellow than the goldens and a lot more serious. Olav (our golden) was a total goofball, God love him. A real sweetheart, though.

I forgot to tell you, Corin... the church I went to yesterday offered actual, true wine during communion. (They had grape juice too). I was already pretty sure I liked the place before that...

What flavor was it? (the church, I mean, not the wine)

Well, the loaf looks gorgeous...and smells fantastic. Letting it cool a bit before I slice it and we'll see how the sunflower seeds fared!

Me too, sis...I could really use the company.
:-)
I'm off to the post office, then to get some apple butter, and a BAG OF ICE!
