The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I see that there is now a new "ultimate edition" of "Princess Bride" out.

Do you mean this one: The Princess Bride (Special Edition)? It must be a rerelease, because we bought it over a year ago. And no, it's definitely not a chick-flick! It's got fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles...

And there is word that a Special Edition of Office Space is on its way. And that The Blues Brothers is going to be rereleased.

Does yours have a similar part that comes out with each loaf????

Yes, the paddle comes out with the loaf.

Good Morning!

Morning Corin - How was Corman and Conway?

We just started hearing the Carabaras adds here on the radio. Not sure where one is, pretty sure there isn't one in theshire.

Don't have TIVO. Think I'll go with the dual-TV setup.

Good for the garden? I guess so if you're growing rice.

Heh, didn't think you did. Real time means two tvs.

Well, this rain is slow enough to soak in, the back yard is getting a bit 'spongy' though.

The cats are waiting for the squirrels to come by so they can chatter at them.

The squirrels have been about but Miss Cat pretty much ignores them.

I have that Princess Bride special edition. The extra stuff is fun! Odd to have a documentary that manages to be that entertaining and funny. ;-)

My cat is mostly busy getting into whatever box I happen to be filling so he can drop his ball and shriek at me to play fetch. Brat.

The other cats are just playing in the boxes. Boxes are THE coolest toy ever, they think.

Good morning! Steve is off again...left very early this morning, maybe 4:30am? He should be home around noon, though...

I'll post pictures of the cookies here in a bit.

Ha ha ha! Matthew just was going to the bathroom...Joshua knocked on the door and said "What are you doing?" Matthew replied "Move away from the door or sing!"

LOL!!

Move away from the door or sing.... would be a good tag line. ;~D

Good morning!

I felt like a white knuckler yesterday trying to nail down plans for this trip to Arizona in March. I really hate to travel, and we really don't know yet who will tend the animals.... we decided on a minimum trip and it will still be six days, his parents are disappointed.

Good morning!

You know...if I can afford it, I'm thinking we should just FLY from Denver to SeaTac for the wedding - drive to Fort Collins, but not the long trip to WA.

I dunno if it'd even be much more expensive to do it that way! And it'd give us a bit more time to hang out in Fort Collins and get things settled.

Not set in stone yet, but it seems logical.

Also, since I wouldn't be flying back with the rest, I could always schedule a day or two extra to hang out with Washington Hobbit Holers! ;-)

What does "Princess Bride Special Edition" have? My family's all big PB fans and if there's something extra we ought to know... it's not a chick flick at all, it's a cult classic.

By the way, those who haven't read the book really ought to, it's got some really great bit...

Now that's an interesting idea. You should check out ticket prices. I'll be glad to drop you off at the airport, of course...

By the way, try not to schedule your arrival in Fort Collins for a Tuesday or Thursday, those are really bad for me this semester.
