The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Nite folks. I'm fallin' asleep in my chair.

I think the only reason I'm still here is that the actual act of going to be requires getting up and going upstairs...

g'nite

Good evenin'...

We went out tonight for dinner and pints with Sonya and Tim, who left baby with her mome for a few hours... I think this is close to being Sonya's first time out.

ecurbh had 4 beers, and is in the same kind of condition he is usually in after 4 beers ;~D Sonya wanted him to do more, she wants to see him reach a basic level of college drinking compitency, I am just not sure that can be acheived after 30, if it wasn't mastered before 30. Anyway, I'd take a picture of him, but it would just look like the ones I posted before when he was in this state ;~D

I should have at least spell-checked that post, you'd think I'd been in my cups too ;~D

Thanks... I think it is especially bad to misspell the word competency... it's like misspelling mispeling.

For me its AC/DC, or The Who. Gotta be careful with that stuff. :-)

Oh, yeah. Anything with a driving bass line is bad in the car. Gregorian Chanters of Doom especially so.

Bah, usually I like staying up late Fridays, but tonight I'm tired. (Possibly from trying to make sense of horrid subtitles) Good night, anyone who's still up..

Good morning!

Let's see...where to start today? I need to go on a quest for boxes, for one. And then continue adding to the Great Pile o' Stuff That's Moving. That as opposed to the Great Pile o' Stuff That's Going to the Salvation Army and the Great Pile o' Crap.

I hope I can find SOMEONE willing to mail me stuff if I can't thin things down enough to fit in the van. Gotta think of suitable bribes, I guess.

This afternoon someone is coming to look at the treadmill. Hope that goes! Next up: the free-to-a-good-home furniture, the desk, and the kitchen furniture - the table and chairs. I haven't advertised those yet.

Morning!

My cat alarm went off at the usual weekday setting. Think I'll make a bit of breakfast before taking the car in for the oil change (finally). It's supposed to get near 60 today but it's so wet outside that I can't do anything in the yard. I'll wash the car later this afternoon.

Now that I have spackling, I'll work on the door today.

My cat alarms are faulty.

They sometimes go off in the middle of the night, but rarely first thing in the morning.

Lazy bums!

Wow...he's really growing up! Seems like he was just a baby in some of the last pictures I saw, and now...

Time has flown in the Hobbit Hole! *sniff*

more coffee...

gotta get some welding done on the brush hawg... standard maintenance fer a piece of equipment like that... some fellers I've befriended down the road have a shop... even tho they're always busy, they always hook me up fer free...

so we made 'em a pot of smoked ham hocks and beans, cornbread, and cookies... it's cheaper than payin' $40 an hour...

Wanna rent one? I can drop it by on my way through MI...

Currently my head Feline Overlord wants to play fetch with a twist tie. There's something symbolic in that, I think. Just not sure what.
