Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Mornin'. It's a Corin-ful day.
Mrs. is stayin' home with Luke today. He's not throwin' up anymore, but he was still running a fever at around 4 a.m. Worked out okay, 'cause apparently the Mrs. has the same thing.
Had a Jr. meltdown yesterday. Same ol' stuff. We have reversed our strategery. EVERYTHING - drums, choir, choir tour, youth retreat, driver's license car, Brazil, is OFF the table until he earns it back. Last night he stayed home from drums and youth group (that worked 'cause the Mrs. stayed home with Luke). Hasn't seemed to phase him yet. But I told him I'm not signing another check or permission form until he shows some effort.
Plus, now he's managed to get hisself an infected toenail...

I've only got cat fur. Miss Kitty is good about not barfing on the furniture. Carpet is another matter. I would hear that "warning sound" of one of my two kitties about to puke and race to pick the little barfer up to put him/her on the nearest bathroom floor - but I wasn't always successful.
Cat people usually always have a can of Resolve under the sink. ;-)

Heh...after some of the pets I've had, that "warning sound" as you very aptly put it can wake me out of the deepest sleep...at least enough to hurl the puker into the bathroom. Went for the dogs, too.
If I ever have kids, I'll probably hurt one of my kids someday chuckin' 'em onto a linoleum floor while half asleep...

LOL - ever had the experience of stepping into cat barf with bare feet just after getting up in the morning? Every kitty-person needs to experience that at least once.
A peanlty for those of us who sleep through any kind of noise.

If I ever have kids, I'll probably hurt one of my kids someday chuckin' 'em onto a linoleum floor while half asleep... Actually, when it's your own kids, your behavior patterns will change and you learn to deal with a lot of "stuff" you couldn't stand from someone else's kids.
Trust me, I've had a kid projectile vomit into my face...and muh mouth was open...
(I hope everbody's done had breakfast)

I sleep through most sound...but not that one. Usually.
But I've also stepped in barf before.
Oh joy.

Yeah, Joseph was well and truly bummed when he woke up to rain this morning. It's supposed to turn into snow tonight, though, and we're likely to get 3-6".
