The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh - I thought it was surplus equipment from the lab.

So it's evidence. I didn't know they had a "crime scene storage garage sale day"

LOL!!

Hey, they don't even sell the makings around here. You have to ask the pharmacist for it. It cut down on our local drug production.

You know the Sudafed commercial where the people are saying they are stuffy and the pharmacist says "Aisle 5"? Well, if you go to aisle 5 in Oklahoma, there's a notice saying "Go talk to the pharmacist if you want this stuff."

I think the federal government actually has a website where you can bid on confiscated stuff like on Ebay!

Yeah - I know... cars and boats and things...

Hmmm.... OK 2J... you've entertained us this morning... armed only with a beaker, some peroxide and a casserole dish.

Yeah, I've heard they're doing that in a lot of areas. Same goes for stuff that could be used as inhalants...or whatever the term would be.

I'm glad!

Speaking of casserole dishes...what is the situation with bringing food to ShootMoot? What is my role in this? Do I need to start budgeting for it?

Do you need to start budgeting to bring a casserole to shootmoot? I don't know!

g'nad put me in charge of food planning, which is really remarkable given my resume ;~D

I thought we'd worry about it a month out... perhaps send some money for steaks, hot dogs and grill fare he could buy in advance.

Here's a funny little story...

Years ago, before 9/11, I decided I wanted to try my hand at soapmaking. So I got a basic recipe and found that the best way for it to work was to weigh the ingredients EXACTLY using a postage scale. We're talking ingredients like lye. White, powdery lye.

Well, I didn't have a postage scale so Steve took me to the POST OFFICE and i measured out my lye on the postal scale in there! Two police officers even came in while I was doing it and they never said a word!

Can you imagine doing that today?

Well, it depends on how big a casserole it's gonna be! LOL! I just want to be able to hold up my end...

BTW, the soap turned out ugly, but very functional! We still use it.

See you all later!

If you start talkin' about buying up cough syrup in large quantities, we'll be keepin' an eye on you...

But, what if it's on sale at Aldis?

FWIW, I'd skip the clothing section...

I thought I was being evil and sleeping in an extra forty-five minutes. Now it appears I haven't woken up yet...

Meth lab cookware? In the nicest possible way, I have to say, "Only you, 2J."

Good morning... I need it to be Friday... I'm so tired... and stressed, and I've got to get my assignment working today.
