The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh heh! I've been chuckling over that word all day...my kinda word.

The bread turned out pretty good...a definite salvage. It just doubled in size too fast so the consistency isn't great...airy on top, denser toward the bottom, but completely edible!

It's craptacular because the recipe has absolutely no redeeming qualities...no fiber, nothing.

I made another loaf. LOL I'm trying it again in the bread machine, with not quite so much yeast this time!

Still feeling pretty crummy about messing up the Jeep.

(((Ramius)))

I'm glad ~you're~ OK. Jeep Cherokee Sports are replaceable, even though they're hard to find.

Ramiuses, on the other hand, are harder to find and can't be replaced. :-D

Yeah, having a spell of dizziness...started this past weekend. I'm all right as long is I don't lay down or get up too fast! Thing is, I forget! I don't have this all the time, I have "bouts" of it, you know? So I get used to not thinking about it and then when I'm having trouble, I forget. Like today, when I flopped down to talk to Steve on the phone. I know better than to do that!

Turning my head from side to side won't set it off, but if I throw my head back too far, it will.

Nah... we're a dime a dozen. Really... I saw me on sale down at Fry's just last week. Didn't get one, since mine still works, mostly. :-)

Yikes! That must be unnerving to say the least.

I plop down and jump up all the time, but have only fainted once due to getting up too fast. That was scary enough!

Be careful, chica. No handling sharp objects, box fans, etc. ;-)

LMAO! Smart aleck.

Betcha I could get one of you dirt cheap on e-Bay!

Seriesly though, another car will come along and eventually you'll only be reminded of the Jeep you thrashed on bad snow days or when he spots one on the road. *grin*

John Williams is such a talented composer! I think the very first soundtrack album I ever bought was his first Star Wars score back in 1977. Can't even play it now cause we never have gotten a new needle for SSQ's turntable.
