Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm off! Going to Sams to get the tire fixed. Gonna put it on the Sams card...a big no-no usually, but we're getting our tax return soon...we'll be able to cover it then.
That takes care of the "getting the kids to Latin" problem!
See ya!

Yeah, I hate that sort of thing, too. It's gotten a lot better lately. There's a jerk on the first floor who's loud but I can't hear him inside my apartment.

Ok, so I'm slow on the uptake... but you moving in April means we'll be driving to Shootmoot together! That'll make it much easier.
Oooh, ooh, and I'll be dragging you to the anime con next fall...

Just walked by Matthew's room, while he was playing his Star Wars game...it's interactive and apparently Matthew did something that prompted the "bad guy" to ask him "Do you flee like a coward??" and Matthew said to the computer "NO! I'm just using my better judgement!"
ROFLOL!
Ok...we're off to Sams.

Hopefully, anyway! I'm a little worried that if I get a job in May, I won't be able to leave for Shootmoot.
That's assuming I've found a job by then. *sigh* So many things to worry about!
Gosh, it's slow right now. I could do more upgrades, but after the last two, I'm a little afraid to. I get in trouble either way...if I DON'T get upgrades done quickly my boss and some of the users get ticked off...but if I do, some users get ticked off and thus the boss gets ticked off. I'm half afraid to do anything today.

I'm sure you'll get a job by then! And surely asking for a long weekend won't be too much.
Maybe you could do some internet research... I admit to being a little clueless. We've got the college, and a community college, and a big HP plant that I think employs half the tech-types in town...

I'm doing a bit of research, but I think I'll likely have to wait to get there to do a lot. I can at least have my resume all up to date and pretty, though! ;-)

Made it home! Car is tucked in nice and snug in the garage.

S'posed to snow?
I just got in from getting my new tire put on the car. Also picked up some bulk Fleischmann's yeast and am making a loaf of bread.

Interesting discussion on the other thread re Robert Jordan. I'm glad to have your opinion. I've always eyed those books on the library shelf - promising to read them someday - but never got around to it.
I worked through another collection of short stories (Best Science Fiction of 2004) and I must say that I'm getting bored with post-humanism. Is that the only thing that gets published nowadays? It's boggling.

Steve's got school tonight...won't be in till late. But the teacher lets them out early so even though the class isn't over till 10pm, he'll be home before that.
The teacher is an "older woman", according to Steve...
Once we get our return, we'll pay for this semester...Steve's last semester will be paid for. Praise the Lord!
