Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heya - you're savvy in internet culture. Do you happen to know the name of the artist/website that drew portraits of all the crazy, different personalities that inhabit an internet bulletin board? Or a keywork I can google?
I remember 'lurkers' being this skinny, skulking guy, a 'know it all', a 'netiquite nazi', etc. All caricatures and funny as heck.

"I really don't give a hoot. And I'm not even all that curious about the commercials" What a bunch of loosers we all are! I like it. How come you have to spell losers that way on this forum?

For a minute there, I thought you were saying he had just died ;~D
ecurbh tells me he already died in 1964.

Hmmm, no, it doesn't ring a bell. Sounds funny, though.
Hehehe, "belligerant blankety-blank." ;~D

No TV in the church? to see the pregame show?Nah, but Father Paul always finds a way to work the games into his sermons. And he cut the sermon short this week so folks could get home not too much after 6.

I'm not watching the Superbowl, either.
I actually didn't know until today who was playing. Sad, I guess. I've followed it in years past when I had friends who were vey into football, but of my own accord...I just don't.
I'm a loser, too... ;-)

I did enjoy the singing of the National Anthem. That was nicely done (for a change). Who sang it this year?

We just finished Season 2, Disc 2 of "24". Couldn't get Season 1 from Netflix cause it was a LONG wait, so we started in on the second season. We'll probably get the third disc the middle of next week.
We're watching another series that our son, Paul, told us about. It's "Firefly", and it had lasted one season on SciFi channel. It's a western in space, even more than Star Wars. It's fun, and more 'adult' than Star Wars, but Clare watches it with us. They're making a feature length film, called Serenity, which is the name of the ship. Don't know if that's going to be a TV movie or released in the theaters.

The games are usually boring.
Commercials and halftime show border on pornographic.
Most of the players are thugs and criminals.
Bogart has more class and is easier on the eyes.

LOL! This one is 2J and me, and whoever wants to join us along about 4 of an afternoon!
