Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Man, that was only two months ago, and look at Andy now! I'm so sorry about Gunny. God Bless his family.

*sorry*
Been trying to keep track of several threads.

You broke up my super funkle! ;o)
We were at a Builder's Trade show on Thurs. and Fri. and there was a drywall guy there giving the builders some 'secrets' for fixing holes and cracks in drywall. I chuckled because two men were standing behind me, and when the drywall guy showed one of the shortcuts, one of the men quietly said to the other, "He's cheating." Well, DUH! He did say they were shortcuts! But these guys should have listened because there were some good tips!

Just going back over the things I've missed!
and were thinking of finding a smallish house to fix up and rent - so they had cash in hand.
It's exactly like I said! LOL!!!
I'm thrilled, Rosie! You're moving on My Birthday!

Really liked it!So did we. I've added it to our limited DVD collection, along with Signs and Sixth Sense. Now I need to get Unbreakable, and I'll have all of Night's suspense movies!

I love all of his movies. He's one of the fiew directors who cares about keeping the art in his craft.

I'm watching Hometime...trying to get motivated. After all, it's not like I'm putting this house on the market any time soon. :)

This is what I did yesterday...Steve worked on making blocks, I didn't get any pictures of him, he was just sawing.
Matthew took the bolts off that hold the two parts of the seat together...he put the bolts and washers in a labeled baggie.

Here I am working on removing the "hog rings" or brass rings that hold the seat cover onto the frame of the seat...

Here is the underneath of the bottom of the seat. Note the horsehair pad? It's totally falling apart and was full of mouse droppings. You can purchase replacement pads. I really wished I had a face mask while I was taking this apart...I did stay upwind of it.

Here is the upright part of seat. A total mess, I did find big clumps of mouse fur in here. Yuck.

And here it is with the stuffing off. The foam rubber molding up at the top seems salvageable...only slightly deteriorated where it was exposed to the elements. I'm on the lookout for something to seal it with.

After I finish removing all the stuffing, I'll go back with a brush and make sure it's spotless, then I'll likely paint it with Rustoleum or something...
