Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yup, she put her house up for sale yesterday. We're going to be housemates. I'll get to spend all the money I save on anime and manga.
Speaking of which, Fullmetal Alchemist starts releasing next Tuesday...

Speaking of which, Fullmetal Alchemist starts releasing next Tuesday...Yeah, but at $29.98 a pop for only 4 episodes, you're talking just over $500 for the whole 51 episode set by the time you're said and done.

I've seen it for $19... but I'm buying the set with the art box and that's a little more. The thing is, I can't justify downloading fansubs if I don't spend cash now and then. And it's my favorite series, after all.

Go away for months at a time and yer gonna miss a few mini-dramas...I think this counts as a major-drama. Did I miss a vote?
How're your sibs taking it? Are they going to slowly follow you out west?

Don't you need to bury a statue of St. Joseph upside down in your backyard? I heard that helps. ;^)

There wasn't really a vote. I just up and announced it. ;-) Seriesly, I've been wanting for a while to get out of this area, and this is right. It just took me a very long time to come to a decision. Like...years.
Siblings? Well, one of the CA brothers had already mentioned the Fort Collins area as a place he'd like to live eventually, but he's moving to southern CA instead...there's an art school he wants to go to there, and it would allow him to keep his current job and just work remotely. The younger ones have greeted this with a mixture of "You GO!" and "I wish *I* could get out of here, but..." And they'll miss me, I'm sure, as I will them. But at least this time around we'll still be in the same country!

*sigh* Yeah, there is that. That's the roughest part of this. But on the other hand, it was just about to happen anyway - Bill and Stephen have their own group with several other younger folks and don't really want to continue playing with us oldsters. ;-) And even if that doesn't happen, I'm not exactly essential - they'll play without me. Just someone else'll have to do that talkin'.
By the way, we started an Irish session at the local pub! It's only been running about a month, but doing pretty well. It's a very tiny pub, so that's the only catch. Nice little place, though - very much a family atmosphere, and not a rowdy place at all, which is nice.

I've told her there's a nice-looking Irish pub out here and sure to be some musical opportunities.
I'm just happy at the thought of having someone around who's not from my department. Sometimes you just want to scream, being around the same people 12 hours a day, six days a week.
