"The Apprentice"
Thursdays, 9pm EST on NBC
This Season: Book Smarts versus Street Smarts
Tonight's loser (not too much of an exaggeration): Mr. Trump, fire me! Fire me, please! I'll pay you to fire me!
Talk about asking for it! ROFL!
I thought that guy who was fired was pretty pathetic. What a little punk. And . . . it seems we do have an Omarosa II, although she's a little less abrasive (for now).
That was my thinking too. With $20,000 to spend, they could have even done 15-20 rooms, with a $1000 in renovations each and made a very big impression.
I think as it progresses we'll find our favorites. At first it's hard to keep track of them all. That guy in the board room who almost got fired - Chris - was a complete unknown to me until Trump called him out. For some reason I can't recall anything he did (good or bad) during tonights task.
I'm sure Danny B will make the cut when they do a Celebrity Apprentice. Of course, they'll have to stock it with washed up celebs since the successful ones couldn't spare the 15 weeks for taping.
Can I ask ONE thing?
If Donald Trump is SOOOO smart...why does he wear such a dodgy wig?
Um, I haven't found an appealing candidate as yet, but I did like Steve Forbes!
I wonder if Trump feels any pressure to hire a woman this time around, after hiring 2 white guys.
I agree with you. That potty mouth was not in his favor. More importantly, Brian messed up big time by disregarding the budget. Magna's get together with the guests was a great way to boost their ratings. Who wouldn't want to stay in such a customer friendly place!
He's very, very cheap.
I thought about that too. He's at least got to hire a woman if he's looking for balance. I don't know if any of these female minorities are the ticket. At least not that drama queen that ran off last night.
I agree, plus a couple of the ladies look a lot older than Carolyn, and lets face it Trump goes for looks too.
I don't think Verna is wrapped too tight.
Yes, and I liked the way the members of the winning team liked him, the American Dream, and the Statue of Liberty too.
The task last night was certainly down, dirty, and gritty but quite relevant to success in the real estate investment business where the execs at the top really need to understand every little detail of the jobs on the bottom.
I sort of miss the gorgeous well-dressed candidates we saw on the first two shows and feel the casting director's pendulum has swung too far to the opposite end. I really don't want to listen to a bunch of jerks swearing at each other. My first-impression favorite left last night for very good reason, but I liked his dynamic energy. Caught him on the Today show this morning where he came off as a bright, engaging smartass. Ann Curry, the interviewer, liked him a lot too.
I also like watching that attorney, Brenn(?), who looks something like the writer Tom Wolfe. But can he actually do anything? And Danny? Well, he sort of redeemed himself by BSing the customers so well. How far will BS take him?
And the black lady who had the hissy fit seemed quite engaging too until she pulled her stupid stunt. Working hard for 48 hours is NOT something government employees are capable of. IMO, she's only good enough for gubmint work!
I have to wait for the rerun because I missed most of it falling asleep :o) But I did catch her nuclear meltdown. I don't think Verna has all her marbles. Then again, I can't say I'd be at my best after 48 hours of not sleeping.
No one's at their best after a 48-hour stint at work, but she reminded me of a spoiled princess just taking off with no consideration for others who were just as tired. Disappointing because she seemed to have all the advantages going into this game. Lack of will and determination are not going to take her far.
You're probably right. I thought she was getting a litle unglued when she insisted on her customer service thing. I'm shocked that the guy told Trump to fire him. I didn't get to see the whole thing but I do remember one of the guests saying the place was terrible. Fuddy duddies with children end to be more critical than young party goers. I was in a motel with ants once. You get what you pay for. I'm going to check out the reviews on Yahoo for the motels. Forty eight hours to renovate a hotel property is cutting it pretty close though.
You again! We're going from thread to thread this morning. LOL.
Yes, 48 hours is tight unless the planning is superb. As I understand it, they only had to renovate about 15 rooms, not the whole place. I would have installed new carpets having grown up in the era when our values, as Woody Allen quipped, were "God and carpeting."
Yeah how are people going to putter around in their rooms without carpet? LOL
