Season III Premiere thread of
"The Apprentice"
Thursdays, 9pm EST on NBC
This Season: Book Smarts versus Street Smarts
I loved Troy!
Tana may win because this time, Apprentice chose half high-school contestants, so the Trump must be open to hiring some raw talent over bigtime degrees. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the degrees are as bigtime as the Harvard MBAs we've seen on past shows.
Tana, I think, is outperforming Troy. At least in the sense that she's more polished, dresses right unfailingly, fits into city life a bit better.
Plus the pressure will be on Trump to hire a woman this time. Remember the first Apprentice? He said the job was for someone to "run one of his companies" I don't think Bill Rancik is doing that in Chicago. He looks more like a figurehead. The second Apprentice Trump said he was just hiring someone to work for him for a year. I don't think the Donald is about to allow any newbie to run one of his companies. He can afford to give Tana a high profile executive job and satisfy any women critics. Tana deserves the job. I have been wondering though why a mom from Ohio would want to work for Trump, what about her hubby and kid(s)??
bumping the thread for tonight... going to be watching while doing my taxes :-)
I am disappointed in Tana....
I missed the end. Poor Chris... I hope he gets it together. I didn't get everyone going to sleep though.
The previews for next week look interesting. It looks like Craig and Kendra are going to have a blow up.
I think it was pretty exceptional that Pontiac told Kendra they actually planned to use her brochure - that they didn't think they could significantly improve on it. If I were her, I'd feel that was a MAJOR compliment and I would make sure to remind Trump whenever she finally winds up in the boardroom (she has not been in the hot seat yet which is one area to be concerned about her - she's never had to fight for herself).
I said way back in the beginning that the PC police would be all over Trump if he had three straight white males winning the show (unless one was gay - so, Alex, come out of the closet ;P). I think that's partly why Craig is lasting as long as he is. After Verna left and Tara was fired (because she left no other choice), there needed to be a non-white face left in the competition to maximize the ratings.
Tana, Kendra, and Craig are definitely in the final four with Craig likely bombing in the interview show.
Oh, and to state the obvious, it was well past time for Chris to go. His seven consecutive boardrooms will probably be a record that will never be broken. And the crying bit, well that just cements what we already know about him which is that he is in no way mature enough to be ready for the job.
You may have that entirely right. Trump has dealings in Vegas and Chris may even have been on the show as a favor to somebody. Wow - that explains everything.
I'm trying to remember which season a property in Vegas was one of the choices for The Apprentice to work. IIRC - Bill had the choice of a tall building in Chicago or a golf course in California, then I think Kelly had the choice between a tall building in NYC or something in Vegas. Both choose the tall building.
I really don't buy this 21-year-old self-made millionaire stuff about Chris and I never saw the "talent" others talked about. Some posted in other forums that Chris' millions are actually his father's, which if you add all this up, means Chris is a silver-spoon kid who probably made the show thanks to his dad, which could be why Trump let him hang around so long.
There are pajama detectives better than me who can go ahead and figure that one out.
Alex and Craig are dead men walking. Bren, nice guy, but Trump ain't hiring the mastermind behind the veggie porn commercial.
Kendra and Tana are the two to watch, imo. Trump needs to hire a woman after two male winners.
Tana has been smart, but she pulled both a Micheal and a JennM from last season, by riding out her exemption and trying to take over the presentation.
I think Craig and Tana were trying to cause Kendra to lose, then get her fired.
I'm hoping Kendra wins the whole thing.
I think Kendra is too insecure and immature for Trump. She also said she did the whole challenge which was just not true. She acts like she has been dissed a lot in her life and has to prove something. I don't think Tana and Craig wanted to get her fired. Kendra just shut them out so much and took control that they said OK and got some sleep. I think Tana and Craig have stuck together and will continue that, and they will be the final 2. After Alex and Bren are fired I think Tana and Craig will have no trouble getting Kendra fired, they'll work together in the board room. Kendra only led once and it was this last week, Trump I think will fire her for not stepping up to the plate enough. Tana has a much better record and many more different skills.
Kendra won't get fired next week. She has immunity. It will be Craig's turn to lead, and even if he does get a victory and makes it to the final four, he will not survive the interview process.
Trump Bump. 15 minute count down on the East Coast!
I'm home just in time for the drama.
Craig is an ass.
Craig's a butthead but even I'm thinking of buying that thing *lol*
He was a jerk tonight, but I can't blame him entirely for his problems with Kendra. She is rather immature and gets very petulant when she doesn't get her way. I imagine it drives her teammates up the wall.
