"I just discovered that when your cat runs up after you've been hurt it isn't due to concern for you. It's because they want to see if you're hurt enough for them to take down."

ROTFL! You just now figuring that out?

Well, with my 24 pound cat, it may be more out of concern as to whether I can still get up to put crunchies in her dish.
*chuckle*

Too much like you, huh?

How many dimes and pennies will you need to buy a notebook that costs 63 cents?
+++
How stupid is that? What can be the number of permutations of this idiotic question?

Cannot this little person be home-schooled?

Oh, I was making the statement of what is wrong with teachers because I thought Jenna's was giving her too high a level of work. But, I found out from my daughter tonight that they are supposed to count to sixty-three with hash marks and then slash out in tens to find the answer. Now, how would I know that? LOL

On the same subject, but another note. I am so sad tonight because of one of the questions on her homework. It was "how many people live in your home?" She first said four, for herself, brothers and mom. But, then she said "wait, daddy said he was coming back to live with us, sometime". I asked her who had told her that and she said "daddy did". I told her to just mark it five, then.

I hate that miserable SOB who left them to "find himself" so much.

What some of these parents do to their children to serve their own selfish interests should be criminal.

I know, Libby. My daughter does not have any feelings her ex at all anymore, but she does feel for their kids who miss their dad. She keeps trying to get him to call on the phone and see them more often. Lord knows, there are divorces, but to emotionally and phyically abandon one's own toddler children should be a crime. I just told her that no one can make a person care if they can't or won't.

The investigative supervisor today was encouraging me to accept a position in investigations. I'd almost be tempted except that my office would be over an hour away. He would be my supervisor, which I could deal with. He's a smart guy, and very likable. It helps that we're on a similar wavelength politically as well. I probably won't do more than entertain the idea, but it makes me feel good that he has that much condfidence in my competence.

You have quite a few people who have confidence in your abilities.
;-)

Wow, congratulations!!! Just knowing you're in demand like that, after such a short time there, that is fabulous.

Well, I wouldn't have to move (nor would I), but it'd be a long commute when I had to be in the office. I like having my office only 8-10 minutes away. The area covered isn't limited to one county. I wouldn't have to share an office or do any casework, but there'd be a lot more legal stuff, affadavits and such, and it is a bit higher risk position. It would also be longer hours. Like I said, I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I just don't think I'd want to commute regularly that far. Besides, I hear that the people in that office are not all that pleasant to work with. They can't even keep a caseworker over there. I like the people in the office where I am now.

Being in demand can be a bad thing.
*chuckle*

Depends upon why one is in demand.

Yeah, I really did appreciate the request, especially considering that this is the same supervisor who was very nervous about sending me out on my first investigation. I think I have surprised him a few times.

"Depends upon why one is in demand."

Most men would be thrilled to be in demand because a bunch of wimmin wanted to have their way with amuse themselves with him.
