Are all Conservative Women Religious Fanatics (Vanity warning)??
1/10/05 | Myself

Okay. Flame if you want. This is what you'd probably call a vanity. Yes, I am a new member, but I've lurked here for years. And no, I'm not from DU!!! However, I am asking a serious opinion here, not trying to start a flame war. I am an agnostic. But I am a conservative. I am anti-abortion, think gay marriage is wrong, I hate high taxes, and think the Dept. of Education is a bunch of shiznit.

But I can't meet a woman like me. All the girls in my age group (I'm 20) are either flaming liberals, or, if they are conservative, they're Jesus freaks. I don't mean to offend anyone but that's the best description I can come up with. Does a non-religious, or "libertarian" type, young, conservative, SINGLE female exist, or not?

"But I can't meet a woman like me."

Sorry, I thought you WERE a woman. The Second Amendment Sisters are out (guys can only be supporters).

Go to some cowboy action shooting events, there are always women there. Do you hunt? Plenty of women do - it's a fast growing segment in hunting. Do you ride? Horse people tend to be conservative - take a riding class. A lot of SCA people and reenactors are very conservative. There must be several groups in your area. There are always a lot of women in those activities.

I think he means the people who leave the grocery store and proclaim in the parking lot "Let us thank the Lord for providing us with this bounty of groceries!", or think a bus-station restroom is an ideal place to prech the Word of God. As a Christian- those people even scare me.

Rejection can provoke strong reactions in young guys. Instead just accepting that the girl may not really be into you , call her a jesus freak.

I knew I'd get this.

I DON'T WANT A WOMAN FOR SEX ON THE FIRST DATE!

If that's all I wanted, would I really care about her politics???

By Jesus freak I mean someone who will protest my musical, movie, entertainment tastes.

I think sex is something that two people in love should share. Not necessarily having to be married, but in love, just to clear that up.

Nevermind. I thought you were a female looking for like-minded girls in your age group.

You have serious issues...

This statement could have easily read:

All the girls in my age group (I'm 20) are either flaming liberals, or, if they are conservative, they're Christians.

Why the need to disparage Christians as "fanatics" or "Jesus freaks." If you work out your issues, you may be in a better position to find a good match for yourself.

Only about 10% of the population claims to be non-religious. Only a percentage of the non-religious are hostile to Christianity like you are. This means that well over 9 out of 10 girls you meet will not mesh very well with you...

I'm curious where you shop? They don't do this in my neighborhood. Maybe I need to change days I do my shopping or something, because it would give me a good laugh and make me not hate grocery shopping so much.

"I DON'T WANT A WOMAN FOR SEX ON THE FIRST DATE! "

Why? If you don't have to worry about God, why don't you run wild?

I think they exist, but they are few and far between.

My hypothesis: women are always looking for love and acceptance. So, they either go the 1) flaming lib route, where they roll with a crowd of fellow feminists or 2) go the Jesus route, where they find the acceptance of a loving Savior.

You won't find many women in your peer group because its not how women work. Don't give up hope, but don't dismiss Christian women. They aren't brainwashed freaks.

*** Disclaimer: for the record, I am a 28 yr old single Christian female. I write the above based purely on personal experience.

I'd say that many agnostic conservative young woman begin going to church (and becoming Christians) after they marry and start their families.

I've seen it happen over and over.

Conservative women want to raise their children with values, and they like to get their children involved in church "Sunday School" or other children's ministries.

(Conservative "Jesus freak" here.)

I'm conservative because:

Abortion is murder. You don't have to be Christian to believe that sucking a living baby out of a uterus is murder.

Socialism DOESN'T WORK.

ISLAM? There's a religion I know enough about-learned that on 9/11

BTW-not all of the Founding Fathers were Christian, but they were all conservative by today's standards.

Yes. Go where the country radio stations is roughly equal to the rock/rap radio stations.

I saw it while visiting my friend in Kentucky. And yes, it made me laugh too. The father stated it, and the entire family raised their hands in the air.

Are all conservative guys sports "fanatics"? And why is it good to be a "fan" of sports but not a fan of Jesus? We both get emotional about what we love and believe in playing by the "rules". Incidently, just in case you're wondering, women who love Jesus are definitely not frigid. We just believe in keeping what belongs to our spouse (or future spouse)only for him. Signed: your basic married conservative fanatic Christian wrinkled grey haired female granny type who is incredibly well-balanced, fulfilled, and happy :) God bless you on your search for true love kiddo.

I'm a Conservative. I'm a 18, and I'm a female. I'm also not religious, at all.
I'm a Deist.
So the answer to your question is No, not all.
But religion teaches absolute truths and right and wrong. So it's understandable why people who are religious tend to gravitate toward the conservative party. They want to conserve absolute truths. These people know that there is a right and wrong and we should abide by it.
Liberals believe in moral relativism. That is that there is no right or wrong.

I used to be agnostic (well there could or there couldn't be).
Basically whether or not you choose to believe it, there is a higher power. Without a higher power there is no right or wrong.
Men derive free thought from that higher power. We didn't all just happen. Whether you believe he is Omnipresent is your choice.
