Kiefer Sutherland was in one of my favorite films, Disney's "The Three Musketeers" (1991, also starring Charlie Sheen and Oliver Platt). One of my favorite versions of the tale.

If I remember my Tom Clancy, I think in a situation like this they have to keep the president airborne until the threat is eliminated.

So if they get ahold of the override and stop the meltdown, does that stop the threat, or are there other concurrent plots with other cells?
I think he is staying in the air for security purposes. Something like Bush and 9-11. Especially when a meltdown could occur anywhere on land.
