Here's the editorial that prompted the investigation:

Sick Jokes

Recently a group from my office got together and went to the Brickwall Comedy Club at the Budget Inn.

When I go to an adults-only comedy club, I expect to hear adult humor (including off-color jokes, which are half the fun) but did not expect to come out completely irate. The night started with the owner, Chris Warren, getting up and telling a few jokes. His jokes consisted of not one multiple jokes about rape. One of them started out by him asking if anyone had heard about the woman who married her rapist. His "punch line"? "At what point during the rape did she think, 'Hey, this isn't so bad?'" When the room was silent, he made a comment that maybe his joke was too dark for the crowd. It was not that his humor was too dark but that violent crimes against women are just not funny. Later he made a comment that Hillary Clinton should be raped and assassinated. When again the room was silent, he said that "OK, maybe we should assassinate her first then rape her." This is supposed to be funny?? I don't care what your political persuasion is, wishing any person to be raped and put to death is just wrong. Maybe Warren should look at his material and figure out that there are certain subject matters that are never funny no matter how you tell the joke.

I know that some people will think I am overreacting, but I take care of women in my practice who have been victims of violence and rape, and I can guarantee they're not laughing about it. Neither am I.

Not very funny.

But neither is Hillary's history of aiding and abetting Bubba's rapes.

So, I'm walking through the woods with a woman, as it starts to get dark, and she turns to me and says "It's getting dark, and I'm scared..." and I looked at her and said "Ha. you think YOU'RE scared? I gotta walk back alone!"

Tee hee ;0)

Well, I must admit that I don't find any of those comments particularly funny, however, there have been many, many documented cases of "comedians" saying far worse things about numerous conservatives, with NO repercussions whatsoever.

The joke about Hillary was not funny, nor were his comments about rape.

This guy is not much of a comedian if he has to resort to rape jokes.

"Later he made a comment that Hillary Clinton should be raped and assassinated. When again the room was silent, he said that "OK, maybe we should assassinate her first then rape her.""

IMO, not funny at all, and if that's a sample of his humor, I wouldn't pay a nickle to keep his comedic "talent" alive, first amendment rights or not.

As much as I dislike sHillary, and as crude as I can sometimes be, I think this was over the line, if the LTE was truthful.

I just KNEW by the tone and cadence that the author of the editorial was a woman before I even got to the end.

"It was not that his humor was too dark but that violent crimes against women are just not funny."

Violent crimes against men, however, are hilarious. Anybody recall the smiles, chuckles and field day women had with jokes after the Lorainna Bobbitt episode?

Okay, if -- and that's a big if -- that editorial is accurate, he did cross the line.

"wishing any person to be raped and put to death is just wrong"

I completely agree...but I don't recall anyone ever caring about that one article I read where the author called for President Bush to be killed and his daughters raped.

But I guess that's different. It's ok to rape and murder Christian conservative types. [/sarcasm]
