We are suppose to have a cold front roll sometime next week
Till then .. it's all rain
It can get depressing after awhile
We could keep track of days with sun....bet he'd win.
That's sad.
I sure don't like it, but what can you do except learn to live with it? I will say this, after having lived in Palm Desert for 5 years, I'd sooner put up with this crappy weather than be cooked at 120 degrees by 10:00 a.m....although, it's almost a toss up.
I rather liked the desert when I lived there, although 2 years of it was long enough.
I loved the desert in the spring, fall, and winter, but come summer, I thought I was in hades.
Granted, the summers could get pretty rough.
Where is the Palm desert? I'm the one on this thread who has never been anywhere. LOL
Is Seattle Really The Rain Capital Of The World?
Well, sort of. Seattle ranks behind a lot of cities when it comes to annual rainfall totals. Chicago, Houston, New York City, and Miami, among others, all get more rain per year than Seattle's 37 inches.
But that's because while it indeed rains a lot here, it doesn't rain very heavily. It could rain all day here, and we'll pick up maybe 0.10" of rain. Meanwhile, a 20 minute thunderstorm in Miami could drop 0.75" of rain.
On the other hand, our area is still the champ when it comes to number of cloudy days. Seattle ranks in the top 5 nationally 226 cloudy days per year behind Anchorage, Forks, Astoria and Olympia. We're in the top 20 with 140 days of measurable rain.
.....Westy.....
Palm Desert is east of Palm Springs, about 20 miles or so. Palm Springs is about 1 1/2 hours east of Los Angeles area. They're both in the Coachella Valley of California.
The farthest West point in the Lower 48..
That time again..Goodnight yall, have good ones..
See ya mañana, Good Lord willin...
.....Westy......
Goodnight, westy; that's a beautiful pic.
I do, too. Too bad we can't just visit every place! What is your hometown like?
Just south of Syracuse.
How far from Ithaca?
