"I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it."
- Benjamin Franklin
I do not disagree. Before governments started stealing all our money, communities and churchs took care of those in need...of course, back in the day, it would have been weeks, if not months, before word of this disaster ever reached us.
I think stretching our military to deliver aid supplies is our contribution in itself, as we are one of the few countries who can do so.
I am tired of countries dancing in the steet when we are harmed and then turn around and whine that help has not arrived from us immediately when a crisis strikes.
Yes, I am glad that President Bush has circumvented the UN by setting up a system headed by his father and Clinton that is totally private. But, he shouldn't keep upping the amount that the government gives. Enough is enough, by damn.
My husband says something along these lines - he says that all of the welfare programs we have make people comfortable in their poverty, so that they have no incentive to get off of the rear ends and improve their lot in lives using their own initiative (I cleaned it up a bit for posting purposes).
As if you are the innocent bystander here......Heh heh heh
So far from innocence, your impeachment papers as a chaperone are final, your cover is blown......
Should the instigator of all of this remain a card carrying chaperone:
we're cute, cuddly and playful and we purr if you scratch the right places.
No excuses....just grovelling please.....
Has anyone heard from Lynn concerning her post #1659?
Thank you, what a beauty Dragon.

Your chaperone has lost it.........her license was revoked......

Gotta enjoy these kids while I've still got them at home.
I am so sorry to report, I haven't been to Biloxi, Ms., since the 80's. Catpuppy goes frequently, I think. I'm pinging him for his input. :)
Heyyyyyyyyy Catpuppy, smooch.
Dizzy is NOT good. Believe me, I know.
We need an update, please. :)
Am I home alone?

I'd begun to think everyone was enjoying the slopes or basking in the Sun.
"A Hispanic name - José - No. 1 for Arizona boys"
http://www.dailystar.com/dailystar/metro/55341.php
"PHOENIX - Tom, Dick and Harry are being replaced in Arizona by José, Angel and Jesus... And Michael, the most popular name a decade earlier - as well as in 1984 and 1974 - now has slipped to sixth place.
What's behind the shift? Arizonans who identify themselves as Hispanic are out-reproducing everyone else in the state. What makes it all the more remarkable is that Hispanics make up less than 30 percent of the state population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. "
I had the MOST marvelous Christmas and New Year. I am so very pleased. Had much fun, food and friendship. :) Missed my internet family though. Returned home today and am checking in.
