I had the same reaction!! Two of the pictures especially stood out to me. One was the black soldier with the tear rolling down his cheek and the other was the one with the little girl holding up the sign, MY DADDY, MY HERO!! Whoa. I told my BIL, they are fighting for us, the least we can do is pray for them!!

I'm going to the gym in an hour. I bought a year's membership so my sister and I decided we would stick as close as possible to 3 times a week. Somedays, I just HATE going but once I drag my butt there it is okay. Besides, I found a little stray cat that lives out the back of the gym so now I go feed the little critter every day. I want to try and find a place where I can stuff blanket so he can get out of the snow and cold. His little paw pads must be frozen solid. I remember a girlfriend I had from Winnipeg that lived here for a couple of years tell me that she worked with a group that rescued street cats in Winnipeg. She said you couldn't believe the number of cats they rescued and fixed that had no ears. I said What? She said, their ears would freeze solid and then just snap off. She called all her little charges pumpkin heads!! Our temperatures here don't go to 40 degrees below zero so we don't have earless cats!!

No I haven't gone for two years. I never told anyone but a couple years in the future I have to have a hip replacement. When I was a kid (6 or 7) I had what's called Leg Perthe's Disease in my right hip. I was in a body cast for 6 months and then had crutches and a brace for 18 months. I healed up find tho but have been having some really bad pain in my hip when doing certain activities. I noticed last time I went skiing I just didn't have the same control of my right ski. The gym is strengthening my legs tho. I'm just not allowed to do the stepping machine or the treadmill. There are other machines that exercise your leg muscles. Bummer. I'm not a big complainer tho.

I don't remember hearing stuff like that during WWII and we were a beer drinking Army in those days....lol
