Well if the ice was bad, it's probably better to leave the kids at the school. Don't need folks who are probably unfamiliar with driving on ice out driving on the roads. That's a recipe for disaster. Does Wake Co. even have road crews with salt and sand?

We had an episode one morning in December when the schools didn't delay opening, and buses got stuck trying to ascend the hill to the high school. There were fender benders all over town because the light rain turned to sleet then ice when it hit the roads. It warmed up within a couple of hours, but it was a mess until then.

They have some trucks. They usually spread sand but you can only count on the major highways being cleared on day one.
