Mmm, but that's how it is with obsessions! They just hit out of the blue...

Eventually my obsessions mellow into hobbies or fond memories but they never go away entirely. And I love the first wave of the obsession when you know why you love a thing and want other people to know, too.

Well put! It's kinda like being in love too...giddy-like at first then hopefully developing into a kind of personal commitment. Like my chickens...how often do you hear of flakey people getting chickens and they just dump them or they die or they end up giving them to a farm if the beast is lucky? I was very enthusiastic about my chickens, but the true test came when it was 7 degrees outside and I still felt that delight going out to feed them and talk to them.

I got "The Natural History of the Chicken"...it's great! Think I oughta bring it to shootmoot?
