Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Boil 'em up. Mash 'em up. Stick 'em in a stew? No, that would be Kartoffeln.

OK. Now ~there's~ a view I could have gone without the first time I saw it. :-/
I don't know if I could bring myself to ring that doorbell.

Of course. I was going to post a reply to myself, but when my screen refreshed, your post was already there... 1 second after my 6665 post (sigh)...
Ironically, if I'd been 2 seconds slower to post, I would have gotten it...

I'd look pretty cool right next to a big ol' round door.

I'll try to be a bit slower next time...

Hey Sailor, goin' my way?
To: RMDupree
Actually, I'm astounded at how fast it happened! Went from casually mentioning it to Steve to having one in my shop in no time!
I've been waiting FOREVER for my red Chuck Taylors! It'll happen...one day I'll be at a thrift store or garage sale and their they'll be! You watch.

Oh, I wasn't around much yesterday - homework and such. And it was laundry day. I stand corrected.

I just found a sticker on the inside of the driver's side door that says the Beetle met all standards that applied when the car was built, in 04/70. LOL!!
My Beetle's birthday is April, 1970! That car will 35 years old in just a couple of months.
Also found some kind of kids toy and one of those old magnetic "hide a key" jobbers...with no key in unfortunately.
