The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yeah, right. I still don't want to go out in the cold to have the car serviced.

Morning OT - How is the 'quest' for a kitty door coming along. Tis a bit brisk out there with the wind, what's up with 40 + mph wind gusts?

Good Morning!

The view from (and of) my balcony: all of this fell overnight and is still falling.

Speaking of pictures, Lil'....?

:)

Cropped, compressed, and color adjusted.... but not uploaded yet.

Ran into a bit of a problem with Big'ol's new camera. We didn't get as many stills as we thought. So we'll have to load up the vid and pull some stills from that.

Well...I was looking at some at Petsmart but they all had clear doors. I don't know if I want a window to the garage. And I don't need a magnetic key lock.

Check out the pet doors at Home Depot and/or Lowe's. They are in the back of the store with the people doors.:-)

Okay. Will do. Guess I need to measure the cat. I'll probably need the fat cat sized door.

I don't think it's the French... they keep asking for Bud Wies Er.

Mornin'

We're right on the bottom line of that storm. Weather weenies have no idea what we'll actually get.

Hair, we had all that warm weather after Christmas, so I got daffodils peekin' thru the snow (I think I didn't plant 'em deep enough).

If them frogs wants a beer, theys the giggin' kind...

So really, next time, y'all need to crash at our place (or Corin's - heh heh heh) and go to the ball!

Works for me.

However, if my candidate for 2008 wins I hope to be otherwise occupied. But y'all would certainly be welcome.

We're pretty sure they have "fluffy" sized doors.

Morning Corin - general rule is 'snow good' but 'freezing rain' is bad. Good luck on dodging the bullet.

We're on the temp rollercoaster here. 65 on thursday, teens with subzero windchills, next week back to 50's. Typical though.

It'd be pretty embarrassing to have to call the Rescue Squad for a cat stuck in a pet door.

I have to get two new outfits (the old ones shrunk significantly over the holidays - what's up with that??).

Dang closet gremlins!! They sneak in while we're distracted with Christmas goings on, and just have fun tightening up the seams on our clothes! ;o)

I haven't see any real predictions on what amounts of snow we're gonna get. The storm is supposed to stay mostly South of us, in which case we'd only get 3 or 4 inches. If it moves slightly North, however, we could get SOCKED! I'm planning on the latter so we don't even have to think about going out tomorrow! Gonna go to 4:30 Mass today, and then get some extra bread, eggs, milk, and TP. We already gots the DVDs, wine and firewood, though the kids need to bring the wood into the basement so it's easy to retrieve. I'm kind of excited about our first Nor'easter!
