The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

No. I parked in the garage only during that big ice event.

Miss Cat decided it was too cold to investigate the garage this evening....the thermometer read about 38 degrees.

I like seeing the seedlings push through the dirt.

Funny! You have to write these down for future reference.

Plus there's a Victoria's Secret underwear model in a tiny red dress.

Must find copy.

She's a fabulous arch villian with potential for a lot of character growth

Wouldn't that lead to backaches, given her advanced state of character growth already?

Do you know if one can grow green peppers in pots out on a balcony?

I tried last year. I was on the west side of the building and got only the afternoon sun. Then there was the attack of the aphids and the whitefly. I think I would have gotten some tomoatoes if it wasn't for the aphids.

You'd probably have the best luck if your balcony faces south. Southwest would be nice. West should work too. Does your balcony have a roof over it?

Just finished The Magnificent Seven. Should I make it a Western double feature and queue up Angel and the Badman next?

No roof. I face mostly east, so I'd get mostly morning sun. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Magnificent Seven was pretty good for a remake. "Angel and the Badman" - John Wayne. Yeah.

It was a remake of "The Seven Samurai". Retelling? Reimagining? Whatever...

I'd say reimaging.

It has a better musical score and cuter guys than Seven Samurai.

And better color, too. But fewer swords. Swords make an action epic.

*Sigh*

Gayle Russell just had John Wayne faint all over her.

Why don't these things happen in real life, anyway?
