The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I might be interested in the comics, depending what you have. Marvel or Dark Horse?

I've asked for the APO address.

Great! I hope we can move fast on this one.

I've already put a HH folder inside the accessory pouch of each "utility knife" (using "quotes" like Dr Evil does). That way I make sure the recipient gets a HH folder, too. Got four ready to mail, once we get some deserving names. Sgt Scott certainly fills the bill.

Hi Fedora : here's the Dark Horse I have :

SW Issue 1 Monthly October 1992 1.50 British pounds - Book 1 Destiny of a Jedi with special collectors album trading cards insert, featuring Indiana Jones.

SW Issue 2 Monthly November 1 1992 Book 2 Devastator of Worlds w/ Indiana Jones

SW Issue 3 Monthly December 1992 Book 3 The Battle For Calamari w/ Indiana Jones

SW Issue 4 Monthly January 1993 Book 4 Confrontation on the Smugglers Moon w/ Indiana Jones (this one has my favorite drawing of the DH story.)

They are not in mint condition, but closer to Very Good. The trading cards for the first have been torn out but I still have those. The cards are of : C3PO/R2D2, Lando Calrissian, Han and Chewie, Luke, Obi-wan, and Leia. I can set up pictures for you later, just as soon as we figure out why the mouse on the other computer doesnt work (long story). If you have any more questions, I'll try to get back to you later tonight. Gotta go now...dinner's here! (Chinese!)

OH, just make me an offer on those, if you are interested. I was really enjoying them when I first bought them, but then I couldnt find any more (at the time...hey, it was 1993!!) and SW was very difficult to find in Houston.

Evenin'

Somehow I got the impression the supply of HH pocketknives had dried up and a Mark II was about to be introduced.

OTOH, I was somewhat addle-headed this morning.

every morning...until about 8:00...
