Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Bah! The shallow ones go for the pretty-boy types.

Exactly. My sisters and I have a "no-bishie" policy.
Sigh. I have to leave tomorrow... shouldn't complain about three weeks of laziness at home, but I am a little uneager to leave.

Hi! Yes, I had a good Christmas/New Year's. My brothers visited town and I got to see them. My younger brother got me a new video rpg which is fun, and my parents got me the "Spider-Man 2" video game. How was your holiday?
To: Alkhin
I just resent it. Let me know if you get it.
To: Fedora; Alkhin
I just resent it. Please. Can't you two work things out?

Well, I'm telling at least some friends and family that I'm doin' this adventure thingie...the ones that I think are likely to light a fire under me.
The ones that'll say it's impossible will have to wait until I've taken the first drastic steps, or at least have my finger on the trigger. Like when I have the house on the market.

Let me know how they react! And don't let the others get you down. Your life is yours, not theirs. They can't run it for you or tell you what to do.
Look, tell them that you've got a guaranteed place to stay and you aren't likely to do worse than you are out there... and you won't be on your own, after all.

I'm vacillating myself between "Ooooooh, I'm going on an adventure, and this is gonna be awesome!" and "I'll never really go through with this...and if I go too far, I won't be able to stay..."
But I'm going to be stubborn about letting Voice 1 win out.

Stephen's reaction was "Woo-hoo! This is GUMPTION month!" I'm not sure what he meant, but he was encouraging. I can always count on him.
Man...he's the one I'll miss the most. *sniff*

Eh, you can get him out eventually.
We aren't gonna let you give up, you know. I honestly think the letting go will be the hardest part. You can do this!

Rosie's adventure? We were hardly involved.
All we did was give her a little nudge out of the door...
To: Corin Stormhands
I'm not out the door yet...but I'm hopefully getting there.

And that comes as a surprise to you? ;-)
To: Corin Stormhands
Not really, you heretic. But now that I know I'll have to see you're burnt at the stake. Or pressed to death. Which would you prefer?
