The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Another good warmer-upper is my old favorite for skiing: Hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps.

Good for ski lifts and other occasions.

Yes, there is that.

I just love that mountain. Ask your sister if she wants to get married again, so I can hustle back up there. *smile*

Kahlua is really terrific. I can drink the stuff endlessly.

There are some less expensive substitutes like Tia Maria, but the difference is there. But when you're trying to cut a corner or two, it isn't a bad stand-in.

Quite true... I may, in fact, never buy a hardtop again. The convertible is just so darn fun. I do even put it down in the winter too. Jacket, Hat, no rain: top down.

I've been looking at the new 2005's but I don't think they're released a convertible version yet.

Sure did. The photos really stirred up the memories.

I've got the video, but haven't watched it in months. I'll be bringing it with me to ShootMoot and we'll be able to make copies there for everyone.

This time, we should make copies of both moots at the same time - so everyone leaves with a momento that's much better than a postcard!

I'll have to check next time I'm near a liquor store! If I can catch a sale, it might not be too bad for a small bottle.

Good for ski lifts and other occasions.

I think it's called a "ski lift". Add whipped cream on top and it's called a "face plant".
