Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

The mustang is helpless in the snow. No workeee no way. The one and only time I took it out in the snow it got stuck on a speedbump. No weight in the back, zero traction, no way to make it work. You just cannot apply power slow enough for it to ever get any momentum before it spins out. Can't chain it up, either. It is a fair-weather unit, and that's that.
But the Cherokee has studded snow tires on it, is 4wd, and has just the right balance front/rear. It's wonderful in the snow.

Kahlua...I should get some of that next time I have money.
Good stuff, that...

Gondor has no drama queen.
Gondor needs no drama queen...

Oh wait, we have tornadoes... hmmm.See?! At least our windstorms give a week's notice. *wink*
*sigh* Sure do wish there was another Entmoot at the same time & place as last year. We'd all be having some fine weather and company in just a few days.

What I don't get is that I like amaretto...but I really, really dislike almond extract. Isn't amaretto almond flavored, or supposed to be?
Guess I'm strange.
But I do like it.

There's rumors that they're going to outlaw them here too. [cursewords]
As it is, we can only run them december-march, but there really is no subsitute in black ice, or icing conditions. Chains only work in deep snow anyway.
Just shift the cost from road maintenance to car repairs. Damn bureaucrats.

LOL! I don't drink it! But I don't like anything with almond in it, except in very tiny amounts. Almond the nuts I like; almond the flavoring I don't.
So I'm confused.

But what a lovely ride it is in the summer!
Nothing like a convertible on a warm, sunny day. I settle for my sunroof, but it's a cheap substitute.

Together? What would that make?
I should learn the names of common mixes. I know what a White Russian is, and that's about the limit of my knowledge. Kinda sad...
