heh... If'n I sleep with muh left ear in the pillow, I don't hear the alarm...
The garage is cleaned out! I think Miss Cat doesn't find it so interesting anymore.
Ha! Have you ever woke up with a kid talking to about six inches from your face, but because you didn't hear them you didn't know they were there?
Rather startling, that.
heh - here's hoping that a clean garage is the proper spell to keep Saruman's ice storm away.
I think I found all my tools. I sure need more light in there!
Well, there was this one time in Organic Chemistry....
Think I've got everything except ice melt.
Hokies? That's really their name?
it used tuh be the @$$wad$, but they hadda change it tuh somethin' that thelocals could spell...
What is the potential for FReepers donating MORE than is needed? If so, I'll bet extra funds could be applied toward others in similar situations? I'm thinking of calling the owner and speaking to her about it.
Honestly, I think lots of people will send small checks, probably not more than will be due by the time they are done.
Maybe call in a week and see if it's an issue.
I don't know if you have time to process this... but I'll throw it up here for comment:
I got a really weird call I got about Homer-dog. From the ad in the paper. The caller was just so strange!
She said she lost a labrador. From the caller ID, I could see she was calling from the Holly Hotel, which is our one-step from homeless seedy hotel in town.
I described the dog, and she said something about how hers didn't have that much white on him, but that her daughter likes to dye him different colors, which she thinks is fine as long as he doesn't come out brown. the lady thought it better for her to dye the dog than color her own hair for amusement. I asked her what the dog's name was and for her to call out to him on speakerphone, and she was embarrassed to say his name was "N[grave racial insult]".
The woman was really weird, but I told her where I lived so she could come tomorrow and see if it's her dog. I told her I didn't think it was. He didn't react to the name, and he doesn't look like he's been dyed black by some girl. I've given him two baths.
I am really creeped about the whole exchange, and we've decided to keep the dog inside tomorrow if she shows up, to say someone else already recognized him from the flyer at the store and picked up the dog, so it must not have been hers.
She don't sound good to me, sis. Use utmost caution.
This woman down the road from us was selling a pool table a couple of years ago and some guy came by to see it and ended up raping and murdering her, hauling her away and dumping her out in an old cabin and going on a killing spree. It was awful.
Since I'm always sure nobody believes me, ;-) here's the story...

Doll! We always believe you!
I hope to be more effectively armed against any and all assaults than your neighbor.
The conversation will happen with them on the other side of the locked front gate... People can't come to the door.
make sure yer both packin'... shotgun would be a nice touch...
you guys are nutz fer givin' yer address tuh somebody that suspicious...
I am the one that is nutz, I told her where we lived..... but jeepers... we posted a found ad because we wanted the owners to call, the weirdness of the call progressed after we said where we were and where we found the dog.
