I was pretty proud of that socket. The wrench was just below my eyes in the gutter as we turned out of the parking lot, but that little 5/16th socket was in the gutter across two lanes of traffic!

I said "I think I see a socket!" Steve immediately turned around in a parking lot and then we went into a parking lot closer to it and parked and I described where I saw it and he went and got it. He reached down and got "something" and then held up his thumb! Yippeee!

That karambit thing is pretty tough looking.

Hmmmm....I could use a nicer ratchet wrench.

After the ice storm a couple of years ago I found a screwdriver and wire cutters that the electrician left behind.

Yeah, quivers are next, and probably a recurve bow. I think a longbow might be interesting to try too, am working out in my head how to do the D crossection.

I think a bow with a 150 lb pull could shoot one of the atlatl darts, what do you think? Maybe 200? The engineering or physics needed to figure out necessary draw weight ahead of time is a little beyond me.

First, I'm going to make one more Ferret flatbow, though, got one stave the right size still left.

Yes, just finding tools and knives, that's a good way to get 'em!

We had a saws-all that was left behind from the beach house remodel... an old corded one that served me very well till it gave out and I upgraded to the DeWalt cordless!

Have a good churchin' up. When do you go back to school?

It was excellent, thank you. I go back next Saturday - yup, nice long break and I'll be back a week early.

I've been wondering... I keep my knife clean and polished, but do I need to worry about sharpening it? What should I get for that?

Afternoon 2J et al. Finding tools is great fun. I think I'm up to 2 combination box open wrenches, a vice grip, a wire stripper, at least 3 screwdrivers and pair of pliers also at least a dozen good bungee cords.

LSA found a wire cutter and pliers combo in Florida years ago. We were on the way to the airport so she stuck it in her purse. I still use it. We speculate a fisherman left it behind.

Now where are the rest of the boxes, sigh.

I am totally hooked on finding these tools now! I kinda feel like I do when I am fishing. To the point of distraction! I gotta remember that I've got other people in the car to visit with!
