Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I did basically guess this one.
But it's still unfair. It's not logical; it isn't, it isn't. It really bothers me.

Hehehe...I like the one where everybody did it.

Heh... Watching Deathtrap on the telly just now. Love those plot twists.

I've got old episodes of Outer Limits. Got a Manchurian Candidate thing going on here.

I just watched the second disc of ROTK EE with one brother.
Quite a bit of added stuff on this disc, too - but smaller chunks, it seemed like. Still...it felt a lot less choppy. And now we know what happened to the orc armor! That discontinuity always bugged me.

Agree about the EE being less choppy. It was the case with each of them.
To: Ramius
Yep. Even my brother - this is one who is NOT a big LOTR fan - said the theatrical releases just seemed incomplete, and it was worth watching the "real" version.
The downside is that they ARE long...no getting around that.
Guess that's not really a downside once they're on DVD, though!

That's what I'm doing! See you tomorrow, maybe, though I'm going off to get caught up with a friend all day.

Good morning!
My gosh, Jen...what did you do, give the thread a sleeping powder after all that mystery talk? It was out like a light!
Last day of work for the week - woo-hoo!

Am I missing The Hobbit discussions?
I started reading, and am half-way through, but hadn't seen any Posts discussing the book.
Is the discussion somewhere else?
To: LinnieBeth; HairOfTheDog
I don't think we've really officially started yet.
Were we going to discuss it on another thread, or just informally - right here?

Mornin'
It's my "Friday" too. I'm just tryin' not to grumble about having to travel this weekend. I'm not going because I want to. I'm going out of obligation.
I am officially making plans now to take off the entire week between Christmas and New Year's next year, and we will NOT have travel plans.
So there.
To: RosieCotton; LinnieBeth
Good morning everyone! Haven't really started any Hobbit discussion.... Everyone wanted to wait till after Christmas and I lost my momentum. I'll come up with some kind of schedule here as soon as I've had some coffee... :~D
To: Corin Stormhands; All
Good morning everyone!
Last day of the year so that means today is going to be quite hectic trying to get all of those last minute 2004 earnings posted in time for W2s.
I'll pop in and out as I can! See you later!
