Evening OT, Corin: Back from Gypsygirl's constitutional. Seems Gypsy picked up an admirer, a young Weimeriemer (sp?). Young dog, new collar no tags no id. sigh. Well, Gypsy was not amused, one growl and bark, and the youngster skedadled.

btw, we got dafodills poking their heads up. Not our usual December for sure.

Can't be certain for A.C. Doyle, but I'm pretty sure the butler never did it in the Agatha Christie novels...

"We owe it all to Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle..." is actually part of the lyrics from the themesong to "Something's Afoot."

It's a musical spoof on movies such as "And Then There Were None (Ten Little Indians)"

One of the song's says "Something's afoot...and the butler didn't do it." (the butler is the first to die)

Urgh...don't mention Agatha Christie for awhile. I just finished Endless Night and I'm mad at her again.

As Dad said, she CHEATS! It's not fair! She'll tell a WHOLE STORY keeping back some detail that you couldn't possibly guess, and then in the last chapter you suddenly discover, for example, that the narrator is a homicidal maniac. I don't like mysteries I can't guess because of a trick.

Grrrr...

Heh, yes, well, she doesn't do that all the time. And half the time I guess the twist anyway. Dunno how. She's made me rightfully suspicious of everyone and everything.
