Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's gonna be a long day on a bladder to leave him inside the house. We'll probably be gone a good 12 hours. I am thinking of putting him in the barn though. If I knew he wouldn't bust the fence and end up back in an emergency, I'd just leave him out with access to the barn.
Most of the yard is field or mesh fence and is dog proof. The part between him and the horses though is electric, and they'll stay in once they've been hit by it, but it's learned.I've got a little time now before dark. I may take him out and walk the fenceline. Looks like this:

If someone left him at the store, my concern would be that he might try to go back there. I would think he was dumped since he needs care and has a new collar though. I put papers down in the garage at night for Cindy. She won't go but will hold it until she can get outside or for some reason, by the door of my back bedroom.

Heh.... They'll try to hold it. I don't have a garage... but the barn is dry and I may put him out there with some bedding.

Sounds comfortable. Are you watching explorer? It's about dogs today. There was a dog like Becky has that was momma to some baby cheetahs, a rescue German Sheppard and an airport beagle:')

Hey I was thinking he was more like a trainer. He straightened that dog right up but when he started talking about he convinced the dog that the dog was handsome he lost me:')

We just finished our Christmas Eve BLT fest. YUM! Pork fat rules! Gonna have a nice cuppa coffee now. The champagne is chilling for the After Mass Choir party.

Not exactly a Christmas puppy, but he's a sweet looking dog. What doesn Gidget think of her visitor?

He's an old guy.... and is very sweet and quiet... just laying here under my desk now.
Gidget was a little nonplussed about the idea, growling at him and looking him over, but he's oblivious to her. That will probably bug her as much as fighting about it would.

The desk grinned and said no pets were allowed except on Christmas eve when it was snowing. Nice story!

Good job saving him! I feel bad for the family that will be missing him on Christmas :( At least he is safe.

It's Marine humor, which means it's shocking and irreverent. heh heh... I resemble that remark... thanks fer postin' this ol' classic... Santa knows to pop a green star cluster before approachin' the wire on the ridge... he can get the challenge and password out of the ACEOI, but he knows the runnin' password, which can't be posted in a family safe forum...
Merry Christmas my friend...
