The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Chicago? Nope. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Have you gotten Andrew Peterson's "Behold the Lamb of God"? It's new this year and you'll like it a lot. It's great.

I suppose... I'm not sure "hip" is used any more, though.

It is among people who still like James Taylor ;~D

Just for the record, I have ~never~ used the word 'phat'.

Oh, Andrew Peterson is a very good Christian singer/songwriter. His songs are deep and theological and very good. His Christmas album is "Behold the Lamb of God". It covers all sorts of topics; talks about waiting for Christ the King, and the Israelites sacrificing lambs, and there's one song that's the geneology of Jesus, and a nice rendition of "While Shepherds Watched The Flocks".

His other albums are also excellent, particularly "Love and Thunder". I'd post some lyrics but I can't copy them out verbatim.

I like James Taylor and I don't use hip...

I don't know anyone who uses "phat". I think it's used by those white boys who think they're black rappers.

Oh, no doubt.

The house is starting to smell good. Mom's making cranberries, and something else... she had to use some of the triple-sec, though, hope we have enough for the margaritas.

A little Triple Sec goes a long way, in my experience.

Don't have much in the way of fancy fonts or graphics at this moment. All I can say is Merry Christmas and lots of hugs for my fellow Hobbits, Elves, and Dwarves. Throw another log on the fire and kick back with a brew, and thank G-d for the beautiful days and the moment we share with those we love.

*HUGS*
