The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh, there was room. My father, Joseph, Bless him, was a simple man. He simply forgot to make reservations.

Good Morning - and a very Merry Christmas to you as well.

Gypsygirl waves paw to Gidget.

You and Ecurbh did a great job with the Hobbit Hole decorations.

LSA found a Gandalf like figure holding a Christmas Tree on the end of his staff. He has joined the Uncle Sam Santa and lead glass angels on the mantle.

Good Morning G'nad. Wishing you, Mrsnad, thegirl, theboy, and thenewboy a Very Merry Christmas.

It doesn't look like we'll get a White Christmas, no matter, though. It will be just fine knowing all the HH dwellers are with FRiends and family.

Merry Christmas!

We've got likker, wine, and eggnog. All I have to do is make the desserts. Looks like it'll be cold enough here to kindle a fire on the hearth.

Good Morning OT - hmmmm. eggnog. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.

It didn't get below zero last night, still a bit 'brisk' though. Fire may be kindled later on.

Did you watch both discs last night?

OT - well, have her watch the director's commentary. Maybe she will cut PJ some slack, after his stories of the how's and why's.

I said something to that effect last night...she didn't like the part where Frodo told Sam to go home.

"That's not the way it happened!"
