Looking for comments from those who have had experience with one or both of those services.
Got any praise and/or complaints about them?
That just means that Netflix will be dumping their prices next. I hope.
Wow.....that is almost in my price range now.
lol.....well, I do have one, but it doesn't pay very much. I am probably going to have to get an off-campus job next year since the campus job pay sucks. If I do, I will probably have to give up my paper editorship since it takes a lot of time as well. But, I need some dough instead of it all going to the college....lol
I had been using NetFlix for a few months when I found out that piece of info recently. I will echo some of the other comments on here so far. They are very fast with their delivery. And they have a lot of titles, including Celcius 41.11 and Fahrenhype 9/11, that you wouldnt expect from a 100% Dem donation company.
I tried Blockbuster for a few weeks for free and the the delivery was painfully slow in comparison and they did not have some of the "conservative" titles that NetFlix did. But they did just lower their price again to less than $15, which still includes 2 store rentals a month.
Netflix is ticking me off now because even though they say they lowered their price to $17.99, they charge me $19.99 a month and call it taxes and other fees. I think Im going to jump over to Blockbuster for the cheaper price and because of NetFlix's way too solid support of Dems.
Blockbuster/Viacom supports Dems too, but from my research, they supported a lot of Republicans too.
I've tried Netflix twice now over the past few years.

I believe that Netflix uses dishonest techniques to limit the number of DVDs received per month. I was hoping for 12 on the "3 out" plan. When I cancelled it was about 8.
I will try Blockbuster now.
I had Netflix for a year and was very happy with it. I was getting approx. 14 movies a month. I then heard that Blockbuster was opening up an online warehouse in my area so I switched to BB ($17.99 plan). I was getting about 24 movies a month(plust the 4 in-store coupons). I have 1 day mail service in my town so the turnaround is 3 days.(mail one back on Monday and recieve another on Wednesday. However BB has started slowing the dvd's sent to me. I will mail 2 on Monday. They recieve both on Tuesday morning and only send me one that day and then the other one the following day. I have 150 movies in my queue. Even with the intentional slowdown I still receive over 20 movies a month. Don't forget the 4 in-store rental coupons that BB gives.
In summary; find out where the shipping warehouses are for BB and Netflix and how close they are to you address. If you have one close to you you might try them first. Remember that the BB in-store coupons are a bonus. I use them when a new release is not available.
Try Blocbuster Online free for one month

promo code: 40037
Enjoy!
I recently changed from netfix to blockbuster.com
I like it MUCH better I can take my envolopes to my local blockbuster and exchange them for in store rentals and it checks them in for me and thay mail them faster. Try it out, I got two weeks free by using promo code 26013b. my friends used the same code and also got two weeks free
I'm with Blockbuster, and I've tried that, only the store wouldtn take my returned DVD on account that I dont have a membership with the store or any Blockbuster store. All I wanted to do was return the DVD. I didnt want another rental in return. They refused to take it, so I had to take it to the post office.
